I meant offensively. Yeh defensively has been poor for a very long time
The Cowboys have been like the old Chargers. O is good enough to go all the way and D is bad enough top prevent that.

I have a theory about that risk/reward thing with Romo and only part of it was he wanted to be Favre II. He played out of desperation and not within himself because he thought every drive had to be a score. Just eating some clock, like Aikman could do, wasn't good enough because he couldn't count on his D to stand tall when needed.

Staubach and Aikman were fortunate because they knew they could count on their D to close the game out or get the stop to help in the comeback and we only talk about one side of Captain Comeback, just him, but that D was every bit a part of that. Both QB's could play within themselves and that's a great advantage.

That's Wentz's advantage over Prescott, it's not that he's the better QB, he has the better D.

I won't ridicule you since I agree with you.

There are people so aligned with this team that the minute a coach or player becomes a part of it, they begin selling themselves. I have debated Nolan in other threads and gave up because he doesn't carry his own bags but the baggage of the teams he was on. His many, many stops during his career were with all bad teams and the last two stops were not as the DC and I think that is for a good reason.

However, I don't know what other choices McC had for a DC so Nolan could be the cutest pick of an ugly litter.

I hope it's Fassel, I mean, it's hard not to see improvement over what we've had these last few years but I don't know if that means good special teams necessarily. I mean Fassel, as a ST coordinator, is not all that impressive, to be honest. His ST units, over the last 5 seasons, have ranked 23rd (2019), 17th (2018), 2nd (2017), 3rd (2016), 7th (2015). So it's kind of a mystery, to a certain extent, just exactly what we are going to get with him. I hope he returns to form and doesn't continue his most recent performance. We'll see.

Joe Montana and Steve Young never lacked for weapons in San Francisco. I suppose that means we should question their Hall of Fame credentials.

Not having to hear about Montana being the GOAT anymore is enough for me.

Just notice how bad his footwork is when throwing the ball.
Hence why he has major accuracy problems.
He dances back there cause he's in panic mode and nervous and his feet tell the tale.
You’ll never get away with this one. You are using the ole eye test.

What are his accuracy problems? He has a career comp % of 65.8. Just to compare pat mahomes has a career comp % of 65.9 just sayin
If you can honestly try to compare these 2, you’ll just never get it. These 2 QBs are light years apart.

I mean it’s true. No QB in the history of the NFL has started their career with a better OL and RB combo. Now his receivers on the other hand, have not always been up to snuff but that was reflected in his bottom of the league passing TD totals the first three years.
Pretty much. If you're still wondering or denying that Dak has had the best situation for a QB to start his career in history then you're not being honest.

He had one of them by virtue of being a low level pick. The other three were Marino, Brady and Rothliesberger.

Two of the worst ever were Aikman and David Carr and he won his first game against the Cowboys and then became a tackling dummy. But I never saw any QB take the punishment Aikman took as a rookie. I think he was relieved to get injured and not critically.

Except that that's a team stat, not an individual one.

Fail!

QB's are judged on their wins and losses. Don't act like Dak is the first to be a victim of this. Very unbecoming.

Dan Marino one of the best QB's ever.....frowned upon for never winning a SB. Even with Jimmy. You ready to put Dak in his league?
