Draft one that has at least a 50% chance to bust vs trading for one that you KNOW is All Pro so you don't have to pay him when you dont have cap issues?
Sure. Let's just never go for it and keep loving those draft picks and complaining about how we cant get over the top.
Everyone thinks every draft pick is a guarantee.
Giving up an extra 3rd to ensure your 1st round safety doesnt bust is a small price to pay.
But I forgot. Dallas doesnt bust picks anymore. Every one of them is a stud now.
No.. they're not all studs. But you're still trading premium draft picks and 9 years of rookie salary football for 3 or 4 years at an over the top price. In the age of 4 year contracts it makes zero sense when you need much more than a safety if you ever want to start competing for championships. Garrett's process was pure garbage but building a team is definitely a process and I'm betting we actually see a real one unfold. You don't bring in a brand new coach and hand him a short term plan. It's flat out stupid. You can choose not to see the bigger picture but overspending doesn't help him at all. Then we're right back to more bottom feeders every where else. We can wait until July for those leftover FAs every year!
