YES. He will. The cap hit would be devastating if he stays on the tag and plays. Thats all guaranteed money, all 32 mil. Comes right off the cap this year. If he signs a longterm deal, we can lower that hit by a few mil. Makes no sense to let him play on that number.
And then we are screwed in the future when we have to release him

July is here 14 days before the deadline.
Simple Yes or No vote gent's.....

I've been saying it for a year now and i still believe it today. Dak will play on the tag this season, NO long term deal, and unless he gets the boys to the NFC championship game at a minimum this season he won't be here after this season they will let him go. That being said i fully expect at some point this season that the boys will give Dalton a shot as i think Dak is and has been the week link on our offense, that's not hate that is just how i see it, i've always maintained that Dak is an average QB who can sometimes have some above average games. Call me a hater if you like but i don't hate Dak i just don't think he is the real deal (meaning franchise/elite QB)

Hate has no role here.
They (Dak-Trolls) use that word to take the subject to areas that don't belong here.
Your assessment is 100% correct!

No matter what kind of deal jones boys offer, dak can turn it down, smarter to play on the tag.

I can’t imagine anyone let alone Dak turning down 100+ million guaranteed in this time of civil unrest and health concerns. It will get done on the 15th.

I dont think a deal will get done. Jerry believes he built a team that almost any QB could ride to the playoffs.

No.

He'll play the season on the franchise tag, pump out a stellar year, and demand more.

This team is pretty close to being the perfect spot for an elder QB to win, on the cheap contract, for a ring on their way out.
Wouldn't that be a revolutionary way to reinvent success in a market that "caps" your potential success.

One thing's for sure, Dak slobberers are shaking in their boots. When is the last time a Dak slobberer told you you'll be crying when he signs any day now? They've lost their guts, not that they ever had any.

Local media seems to be at about 50/50 these days. My personal feeling is that it's about 70/30 in favor of a long term deal being signed.

what a weirdo lol. Talking about “Dak slobberers” and their opinions and you share the sentiment. Lmao. Buffoonery!

I agree, unless both sides give way ....which they wont as there's another roll of the dice.

What I would love to know is ..... Bottom line, does Dak WANT to remain with the Cowboys, or is he prepared to go to a lesser team (e.g. Jaguars)?

The reason I ask is that if he doesnt sign by 15th July, he may be forcing the Cowboys out of the negotiation.

I think the Cowboys FO, Dak and his agent will do whatever they can to arrive at a contractual agreement by July 15th. Whether they're destined to be successful or not is anyone's guess. Either way, Dak will be the Cowboys QB in 2020. Obviously, that scenario really isn't in question. ;)
