How many times has Jerry and Company got it right and actually drafted a bonafied very good QB with a high expensive pick? ANSWER: only Troy Aikman.

Yet, you want me to be a good soldier and gleefully cheer to one's delight for the decisions this company makes when being tasked to draft a good QB?

Pfft...time to wake up and smell the roses, Sunshine. Appreciate what you've got, reward it for its hard word, and make sure to keep it while just entering its prime with the ceiling only going higher....instead of being dumb and greedy with the most important position on the team.

To be fair, after Aikman the next highest drafted QB(top 3 rounds imo) since then was Quincy* as a second rounder. Other QB's drafted was Musgrave in 91(4th) McGee(4th) in 09, Prescott(4th) in 16 and White(5th) in 17.

Technically it was Steve Walsh, but that was the supplemental draft.

So, it's not like the Cowboys have drafted QB's high in the draft a lot.

Since 1989 with Aikman, they've drafted 0 in the 1st, and only one in the 2nd.

Now, you can point at almost draft picks like Manziel and Lynch, but they never did pull the trigger on either the player or trade to draft them

There would be plenty of hate for the next QB with a ton of threads complaining about performance and eventually salary.

I appreciate how Jerry and co have done right lately and seem to understand you need a solid team all around to be consistent. Not sure why anyone would be opposed to improving any position on the team they root for.
agree, I also think the only way the team would have improved the QB position this offseason would have been by signing Tom Brady. Thats a short-term move though.

way to generalize both the Dak and Romo group in one sentence...
That's what it is. There's one poster on this site that goes overboard and that's Dak fan who keeps saying Mahomes is better. He's extreme but he doesn't speak for everyone who supports Dak. Then you have the Romosexuals who are also a select few who hate Dak because he took his spot. You know what this is man let's don't be naive. You wouldn't have made this thread if you didn't know this.

Seems to be the MO on what happened with Dak and Romo.....I'm sure the next guy will have to live up to the same.

Brady's at 43 ain't better than Dak. Hell Bellicheck himself wanted Garopolo for a reason.
if it meant Gronk coming as well, I think it could tilt in Brady's direction. I also include the factor that Brady still has the IT factor as a leader and prepares himself at an elite level. There wouldn't be any contract drama, and that kind of guy in the lockerroom could make waves.

Agreed, except the QB position clearly does not need improvement.

Well, Dak actually did not "take his spot", he was actually "given" his spot because, healthy or not, or the possibility of Romo getting hurt again, the Red Headed genius actually told Romo that, no, he cannot compete with Dak. I think if Romo was at least allowed to compete, he would have won the job and Dak would have to sit the rest of the season, unless Romo got hurt again...Dak did not take nothing, he was given the QB position, and now you know why Garrett had to hit the bricks.

There's no contract drama because they just signed him to 50 million. A 43 year old Brady at 50 million is a no brainer. You sign it before they think twice. Buccs are desperate. If Winston was as good as Dak not only would the Buccaneers have made the playoffs but they would've re-signed Dak. Buccs just missed out on their franchise quarterback who was the 1st overall pick in the draft. The correct move for them was for them to draft their guy for the future but instead they want to fast forward to contender. I get why they did it.

So if Dak sucked in 2016 you are telling me that they would've left him out there over Romo? And you actually believe this? Garrett had a lot of goofs but the one thing that took balls was keeping Romo off the field. It was smart for both Romo and Dak. That's the only thing I'll give Garrett credit for. Took balls.

Yeah and I was a Romo fan just like I am a Dak fan. But I don't know why a select few have revised Romo's history. I think its because he's so good at what he does now that they want to propel him to that same height as a quarterback. But the fact is, he lost his spot in 2016.

I am telling you and everyone else on here, brother, you need to try this ice cold and salted michelada stuff. Once you try it, you won't go back to what you had before. lol

I've never heard of that before. I'm way up here in Utah and I have never seen that, but now I think I'll have a toke and drink a few beers! lol

What I see from most fans, and I think Dak is going to play this year and play good, hopefully, but, really, it's you Dak fans that usually compare Dak to Romo. It like who has the bigger wiener. He did not lose his spot, he was given that spot from Garrett and Garrett is now gone.

It happens when people bring Dak down but hold Romo up. They've both accomplished the same. Dak just has a chance to surpass any accomplishment. Also, who else can we properly compare to? They both played under same coaches and almost same rosters. Romo did it better, he was also more experienced.
