For those who aren't longtime posters and don't know me, I am a longtime Cowboys fan and yes, I followed Aikman's entire career. Have tons of vhs game tapes to prove it. I am an Aikman fan, but Dak has a QB criteria that haters only use for him, and won't use on Aikman.

So because he won a QB competition he was one of the most accurate of all time?
That is one indication.

The other is being old enough to listen to his coaches and other NFL personnel and talk show guys constantly discussing it.

I'm guessing you guys who don't know this weren't old enough to notice in the 90's, only way I can figure one can not know it. It was widely believed at the time, and anyone who was at least a teen in the early 90's should remember it.

If you're discussing Dak, I do understand. That's why I mostly stay away from Dak discussions, as it's mostly vitriol and shaded data that's used.

Charean Williams is a reliable reporter.

Sounds like the Cowboys made up their mind on this a long time ago.

Both Charean Williams who reported this based on what Clarence Hill reported failed the one Gee I believe it thing. Not a single direct quote from any of the 4 people that are involved in the negotiations. I'm mean this time they didn't even use the "a source" said which is nothing more than attempts to lend credibility to what they are saying but failing. Nobody knows if a deal will happen, most of all sportswriters and insiders who are not involved in the negotiations.

It seems both sides have gone as far as they're willing to go this year, which is probably why Dak went ahead and signed the tender.

Gee it couldn't be the reason that Prescott realized that if the season goes on and he doesn't sign the tender that he will lose 31 million dollars that he will never be able to recoup beside will then lose his endorsement deals too.

I'm not saying he's inaccurate. When I think of accurate quarterbacks...he's just not one of the first ones to come up for me personally.

You can’t reason with them. Just like with Romophobia.

Anyone who followed the 90’s knows Aikman was considered one of the most accurate passers during our great run.

But these kids didn’t follow it. Weren’t old enough. They only have stats and videos to see.

Why does that matter?
Dak want $45,000,000.00 per year. He better be better than 2-7 in winnable games.
Because a RB holding out to be the highest paid, running behind the highest paid offensive line needs to be better than 2-7 in winnable games, too. It’s the philosophy.

Has anyone ever been traded after signing the franchise tag?

If the Cowboys and Dak don't plan on making a long term deal happen, I'm curious what we could get for Dak.

There's still one day left for things to change in favor of a possible contract. Obviously, an agreement looks doubtful at this juncture but sometimes, things change at the last minute. Can hard feelings be set aside in the hours left to come? We're about to find out in short order, folks! ;)

History seems to indicate someone of Dak's ilk might possibly warrant a 2nd round pick. Of course, that remains to be seen.
