If "between 33 and 35M" means 35M, then she may be right.
And if "over 100M guaranteed" means 110-115 or so, she might be right again.

Most of us feel the offer is 5 years 175M and about 112 guaranteed....so she is adding nothing new

I'm also going to guess that the final offer may not be until tomorrow unless they get zero response from Dak's camp.

Lol at they dont do four year extensions
This is part of the problem. It's not an extension. Dak's original contract expired. Any new deal is an entirely new contract. The Cowboys may be looking at it as an extension but they only have his rights.

I think Dak should accept the deal.

I mean. I understand him wanting to bet on himself. But with everything going on. I wouldn’t risk it. There’s a chance the season isn’t even played in full this year. Or, he could get injured. It’s just way too risky.

if there is no extension that means that dak wont be a cowboy for very long maybe this year and one more

Probably around 110 million guaranteed. If you're Dak you're really willing to gamble 80 million dollars for a little more???

If someone said hey you can bet $80 and could win $8 to $16 more would anyone take that bet?

People make bets like that all the time depending on the odds.

There is always a chance for a player to get injured, but most of the times when QBs bet on themselves they win. Right now Dak is going to get over 34m per year over the next 2 years because of the tag. He EASILY gets more than 36 on the open market (by 2 years from now probably 40) so what they are asking is for him to take less than what he could easily get on the open market over the next 5 years.

Agreed. I think Dak needs to take this. I think it's a fair deal.

Cowboys apparently standing firm prepared to let Dak unsigned and set himself up for a big payday elsewhere in 2021.

It’s not a bad deal for Dak. Take the 31 million. And up his ante in 2021 for the Cowboys or someone else. Only thing that would cost him is a major injury.

Cowboys are the losers here unless they aren’t interested in retaining Dak long term.

Must be why the local and national press are bashing Jerry and Stephen.

Cowboys need to come a little harder with their offer or just give him the 4 years. If Dak somehow leads the team to the superbowl, you go from 33-35 to 45+ all because you wanted a extra year on there...would rather wait 4 years to deal with that drama than just 1.

I got no big beef with the cat...but Im all in on letting him play the tag out this year esp during these uncertain times. If JJ is the gambler I’m pretty sure he is he’ll hold off on any kinda last minute whale deal....if Dak didn’t take the deal allegedly offered, he’s a fool or a bigger gambler than JJ.....stay tuned vattos

Dak should take the deal, especially when there might be limited or no games at all this year.

Why cant they just add a voidable year on the deal if the Cowboys make it to the NFC Title Game or something. Seems like this 4 yr vs 5 yr thing should not be a deal breaker, there are ways around that if you really want to make it work.

Given the state of the country, the league as a whole and potential financial issues in the future w/ the cap going down....If I'm Dak, I take it and smile all the way to the bank.

If I'm Dallas, I hold firm - if he doesn't sign, you'll have a better idea next year about the future of the cap, you might have saved yourself a cap nightmare scenario.

Personally, I still think they will come to an agreement last minute tomorrow. There is SOOO much uncertainty about this next year and the following after it, I just don't see how he turns down that type of contract.

Fifth year is all about the cap. The tighter the big-money contract, the harder it is to move salary around if space is needed. No wiggle room.

That's exactly right. If Dak plays on the tag then he is not going to be a Cowboy long term. We might be looking at Dalton a lot in practice to see if can step in after Dak goes next year -- if we even have a season.

4 months ago I would have thought this was crazy thinking.......but now, I'm inclined to agree. One thing for sure, if he plays on the tag, Thursday is beginning of what promises to be a long drama-filled year. Like watching a movie with no clue how it's going to end (LOL).
