If this is true Dak needs to fire his agent. I think this is fake news. I can’t believe he turned down 110 million guaranteed but obviously he thinks he is worth more.

Yes it’s fake… It is spin control. They leak that to make it seem that the two sides were really close and there’s no hard feelings… Blah blah blah… BS

Will Dak regret not signing a contract. Or will he just have the mindset, to just go play and prove he deserves more.

We know Jerry will not have to worry about buyers remorse, as there is no money back guarantee. If Dak fails.
However will he regret next year he didn’t do the 4 year deal instead of Dak balls out and deserves a higher deal next year.
But I think Jerry would be happy with that, as Dak did prove himself, even more so. And the team has their QB for years to come.

I think playing on the tag is the right thing. I do not see it causing any damage for long term negotiations come next year.
Dak understands the pie much better now.

I truly felt this would have happened late yesterday and then finalized by the deadline. Surprised it went the way it went but hey...he's locked in for 2020 should there be a season.

This is pretty much the same deal that was rumored to be on the table since like March or April. I'm very skeptical about this story, only because the deal has been there forever. How then can there have been no time? I think Dak and CAA were never going to sign that deal and this is simply a PR story to help Dak in the upcoming season.

I don't buy it but whatever, no deal. Dak plays on the Tag.
The story didn’t indicate if it was for a 4 year deal or 5 year deal, so we don’t know if it is the same or not.

But admittedly it sounds a little off base that the sides reached an agreement without enough time to get the details worked out and the contract signed.

The weirdest part is you don't take CeeDee Lamb in the 1st round of this draft unless you're confident in the stability of your QB position.

$33-35M avg. annual, with $110M guaranteed is crap based on the Goff/Wentz deals, especially if it's 5 years. Looks like Dak was about to give in, because I really think he wants to be here long term. Oh well, now we're going to see how Dak looks with McCarthy, and either pay huge money if there's success, or move on.
The guarantee is the same and the yearly average is higher than Goff. Why is that crapp? Trying to spin?

In one half, Matt Stafford makes more money than Dak Prescott did in an entire season. In 3 games, Matt Stafford made as much money as Dak did his first 4 years in the NFL.

Dak was the 77th highest paid QB in the NFL, on average, over the course of his first 4 seasons.

So yes, yes, Dak does want to be fairly compensated...including not signing beyond the standard 4 year contract.
Then why didn't he sign the 33 mil/year extension that was offered last year? Your thoughts are muddled w/ incorrect data.

But but but....

Dak will sign, weather you haters like it or not. He will be a cowboy for years to come, come July, and all you trolls can leave and find a new team.

Nah, all you trolls that Stan Dak and don't care about the cowboys, and would want a average bus driver to lead us to misery and disarray, can get your affairs in order.

Pack your bags after this season. Don't blame the coaching staff or Jerry when this bum fails. You all better apologize, or go jump on another bandwagon

You do realize that both QBs you just mentioned.

1 - Both are on extensions so the money could be spread out and Dak had a acceptable deal worked out and we won 3 straight and Daks agent pulled the plug and asked for more money. That’s your stall in negotiations.

2 - Also wentz and goff has been to SB. Dak said he didn’t expect Wilson money (35) a year because he hadn’t been to or won a SB.

3 - WTH is Dak having to be on the phone working on a deal at the last minute. Because his agent played it to hard and JJ didn’t care to hear from him any more. Dak was about to get a great deal. He waited around to hear from his agent and his agent just said play under the tag and do good and we will go back next year. Meanwhile you get 30+ a year this year. Oh and I get 3% Dak so you may not have a job there next year but you owe me 1 million dollars. This agent is a joke and has so many clients that he already collects 28 million a year from other contracts. Did he just think or assume JJ would fold and this was gonna be a gimme.

He had an offer for at least 30 million last year, plus a signing bonus. I don't feel sorry for him at all.

He just wanted more, he could have banked 60 million between last and this year, now he has a chance of getting 30 million this year, if we have a season.

Imho he didn't choose wisely, now he has to wait.

I think if Dak really wanted to be in Dallas he would've signed the five-year, $33+ mil per season contract he was reportedly offered months ago and reaped all the benefits of being an exceptionally well-paid team guy and the beloved QB1 of America's team, especially if he has the year he's betting on himself to have. Looks like maximizing his contract is his priority though, and that's absolutely his prerogative. I think he's making a bad decision for his career, but what do I know.

I predicted he would play on the tag, so I got that right.
now reading this I see some info left out:
the deal would have paid the quarterback $70 million over its first two years and averaged $33-35 million per year with $110 million guaranteed.
The deal included a 50M signing bonus and 70M over the first two years. I'm told Dak Prescott wanted to get this deal done but it was just too late per source informed.

There is no mention of how long it is, 4,5,6,200 years????
Was it a new deal? or the same deal?
Was this a last minute offer by jones boys? What was different? Sounds the same except maybe the 50 mil bonus.
Why did Dak have to get involved? Why did he not get involved earlier?

And his brother is mad about it lol !! Says he was never a cowboy fan , and may soon not be one again ??

This looks like a good deal considering all that is going on right now, even if it is 5 years. Dak may regret this later on.

So tired of hearing this argument... He was à 4th rounder playing out his 4th rd rookie contract.
He is not getting backpay no matter how well he played. He is only gonna get what the cowboys and Dak feel his future is worth.

He didn't sign the extension, so he plays under his tag. Going by history, this would appear to be his last year or two as a cowboy.
