Rarely do you get a QB the caliber of Dak Prescott in the 4th round and enjoy the fruits of a 4th round picks salary for 4 years. Dak sacrificed his body and soul diligently working on his game to improve all the while dealing with an incompetent coaching staff. And this is what Jerry and crew have done. It’s embarrassing to be a Cowboys fan right now. The organization sucks. I shouldn’t be surprised but I am.

Just curious..but why is this the front offices fault and not daks fault? You don't think the rumored contract offer was a fair offer?

Do you know the details of the contract? How do you know whether or not the Cowboys made a fair offer and Dak was holding out for something more?

And I am far from a Jerry apologist, but Dak and his camp could easily be the ones in the wrong here.

LoL, Troll! Dak isn't a franchise QB. The FO dodged a bullet and probably gave him the offer they did knowing he wouldn't sign it. Oh, and what caliber is Dak? He isn't a game-changer so please go back to your Dak safe place and cry into your Dak doll. Our QB misery is almost over.

As was reported he was offerred 33-35m with 110m in guarantees. Basically without having done anything significant in his career he was being offered top 3 money and it may have been top 2 money at his position, but it's the Cowboys who are the bad guys here? I know you like Dak, alot more than i do that's no secret, but he was offerred a fair contract he chose not to sign it

....@Rockport, Dak was offered at least 3 lucrative offers, that I can recall. For whatever reason he believes his set of skills are on par with Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers..etc, wanting that kind of money. Is beyond me..

Because it’s up to the organization to make an offer and negotiate a deal he can’t refuse.

If not then be prepared for them to walk. And in this case it’s ultimately going to be over about 3 or million a year. Maybe less.

I fail to see how they messed up. They aren’t idiots. Dak has a world of talent around him... and he still struggled vs good teams.

they offered him a more than reasonable deal. Dak is betting on himself. If Dak can’t lead us on a deep playoff run with this roster he doesn’t deserve top qb money. If he does then he can get a big contract.

The same fans that are saying “sign him”. Would be the same ripping JJ and Stephen if he falls flat on his face with a big deal.

you can’t have it both ways. The cowboys made a decision based on logic here and I don’t blame them.

If Dak is truly their guy then they messed up. If not then we move on and do the best we can . But you don’t walk away from someone you really believe in over about 10%.

We should have made a more creative offer . A deal he couldn’t refuse or not even make an offer we knew he wouldn’t accept. Like we did Murray a few years ago.

In 2 or 3 years Daks contract would have dropped significantly as others sign bigger deals. And why he only wanted 4 year deal.

Jackson and Watson both are going to bust it easily probably with extensions next year.

$110 million guaranteed was way too low. Should have at least been at least $120 million. This article and another estimating what a fair deal would be both said it should be $125 million guaranteed on a five year deal. Obviously if Dallas would have been willing to do a four year deal the guaranteed money would be lower but for five years it didn't make sense to sign that.
