I hope for their sake Dinucci is the next Romo. That seems to be what Jerry and co. wants. Failed with Romo so get another younger one to fail with him too lol.

Dak hasn't won anything either my friend. Only two teams make the SB each year and we aren't good enough to make a championship game. Get real!

Cowboys did the exact right action for a change. They got Dak 4 years ago and there will be another young QB in next year's draft. His agent didn't let him sign and obviously he didn't want to deal so get what you can from
a trade down the line and move on. We have a pretty good QB that can hold the fort until we find another one. Geez!
Hahahaha...they didn't get Dak they lucked into him lol.

Ahhh he's a "overrated asset" but the Jags should trade their best players for him. Got it. Oh and we also get a draft pick? Nice lol.
Yes but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Their pass rusher has requested a trade. He wants out yet he remains on their roster. Perhaps teams haven't shown interest in him.

Their pass rusher is very good but he's no Myles Garrett

Why do we need to blow it up?

People disagree over this contention but in terms of team wins I think it would be a wash between Prescott or Dalton starting next season. We draft a QB in 2021 in the first round. Rookie contract for 4-5 years and Prescott's most productive season was yes his first.

We have a load of quality young players. The O Line will be set for another 3-4 years

That's because you aren't capable of doing a proper QB evaluation. Lets just say that you aren't a QB guru.

And then your drafting a rookie QB thing...………...your knowledge of QB development and actually finding a quality QB seem to be way off too.

So after we go 12-4 this year you think we are going to find the next Wilson late in the first round first time we try?

Hell...…….Dak won rookie of the year and you were calling for us to cut him the next year.

After Dak won rookie over the year I said that we should trade him as his value would never be higher and that he wouldn't progress as much as people think...pretty much bang on the money to my credit. I should be a GM.

What's your point? They failed with Dak and Romo. What's your point my friend?

You have to win with a new QB under a 1st contract to win now or an old QB who plays for less money. You can't fund a team good enough to win and pay
one player over 33mil per year. Can't be done.

Records indicate the overall team and not solely a quarterback stat. Sadly just like Romo, Daks career is slowly turning into a repeat. Romo 2.0 you could say.

Good/great quarterback that gets looked down upon due to the lack of postseason success when in reality the defense has always been the issue. Look Dallas has always had great success on the offensive side of the ball however bar a freak year here and there It's been swiss cheese.

Dak was offered elite money for an above average quarterback. He is no brees, mahomes, rodgers, wilson or etc. He can not put the team on his back like they can. Not even close

Romo on the other hand even with his bone headed plays it always seemed like we were never out of the game. You dont get that feeling from Dak imo

There will be a good QB in every draft, but he won’t be available to every team, or even properly identified by every team (Dak clearly wasn’t). If I could be sure of a QB as good or better than Dak, sure, I would go that route, but I believe odds are the result would be a lesser QB.

People comparing Dalton to how he played on a poor Bengals team without his only good receiver to playing on this Cowboys offense...it's just apples and oranges. He's a good NFL quarterback and he would be just fine in this offense.

Let's use your scenario....get rid of Dak in 2020 and go with Dalton. Dalton sucks and he's in a new system so 2020 is wasted. I don't know what happens in your scenario in 2021...maybe you think they draft or sign someone off the street. Two years wasted. Of your guys prime. For no damn reason.

Do the non-exclusive tag on Dak next season and try and get at least 1 high draft pick for him. Then do what you have to to get your new QB for 5 years. You have a bridge QB to handle chores until he's ready.

He is what he is. He's shown you what he is and he waited before last year to show you. AJ Green hasn't been hurt every year for the Bengals. AJ Green at his best was a top 4 receiver in the league.

It can't be done? But it can be done if you pay Lawrence, Zeke and Jaylon and they underperform? Make it make sense my friend?

Rarely do you get a QB the caliber of Dak Prescott in the 4th round and enjoy the fruits of a 4th round picks salary for 4 years. Dak sacrificed his body and soul diligently working on his game to improve all the while dealing with an incompetent coaching staff. And this is what Jerry and crew have done. It’s embarrassing to be a Cowboys fan right now. The organization sucks. I shouldn’t be surprised but I am.
Sounds like sour grapes, stop the crying it will work out in the end. You appear to be a Dak fan not a Team fan.

....@Rockport, Dak was offered at least 3 lucrative offers, that I can recall. For whatever reason he believes his set of skills are on par with Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers..etc, wanting that kind of money. Is beyond me..
Bingo.

Oh the delicious irony of Pollyanna starting a thread hammering the organization after spending years calling out other posters for doing the same exact thing........all because of Lil Dakota

If Dalton sucks in 2020 then we continue with plan of drafting a first round QB in 2021 regardless.

There is a risk either way. Having a QB on a rookie contract means that we can improve the defense which is a priority. The offensive production will be fine pretty much regardless of who is QB. I don't see a 2015 situation happening again. We have so much quality on offense. Good O line. Quality RB and top receivers. An offensive minded head coach.
