Aldon and Griffin would be just fine. Not sure I feel too comfortable with just Crawford and Aldon.

If Clowney can be had for 10-12 million for a year I would probably entertain that also.

Seems that our contending window just possibly shrunk from 4 years to 1 or 2 we might as well go for it.

Griffin should be here anyway.

Shortsighted front office, yet again. They botched WR in 2018 overestimating what they had coming back from injury, etc. They are doing it again at RDE thinking a DT in Crawford, a guy who hasn't played a NFL snap since 2015 and a guy who hasn't been reinstated and hasn't played a game since 2018 is going to just magically solve that issue.

i hardly think stephen has been short sighted. the need to shore up the middle of the d-line with poe and mccoy far outweigh the need of rde. that having been said, i'd still cut crawford and keep the money. he's shown very little his last couple of seasons.

I could be wrong but I'm guessing Griffin not being here is 100% MM call. He's played against him twice and his former defensive coor is on staff. I have to believe if MM wanted him here, he would here already. But the fact he's still w/o is odd. Hell, I haven't seen anything even linking him to a team. Maybe there's something the guy known in league circles we don't know about.
We know he has talent........maybe some locker room issues or something between his ears.

At least we've heard the FO having SOME interest in Clowney but he's too expensive. Not so with Griffin......

Griffin has had some psycho issues in the past. That has to be factored, evaluated, and if he can be Charles Haley type handled.
Everson also will be 33 yrs of age come December, and that's probably why he is pressing for that last chance for a last multi-year
contract which is likely to be his last contract for a career.

- And Stephen Jones historically has been very leery about signing on older vets for long term contracts.
Our current 30 yr guys are really just on one year type deals, (even though Poe is listed as 2 years, but 2nd year is optional)

But if Cowboys can somehow reach an 1 year deal with Griffen with assurance that the medical issues being handled,

- Maybe some may argue Crawford's locker room, sideline leadership, experience in 4-3 and 3-4 schemes, and versatility
to play DE and DT, but that still also comes up with an only decent, limited player still recovering from 2 hip surgeries vs
still a pro bowl caliber level edge rusher player like Griffin.

- That's i would more than be glad to accept a Griffin for Crawford exchange.
Swap Crawford's ridiculous 9 million to give to Griffin's one year deal.

Gregory or not...are we that tight up against the cap where we can’t sign Griffin??

He’d be an amazing add. Granted, he’d be a good add for a lot of contending teams.

the 9 million we seem willing to give a just average/decent Crawford, we instead give/offer it to Vikes 32 yr old pro bowl DE Everson Griffin
on a one year deal.
- And then immediately cut Crawford -That's if it's agreeable terms between the two parties (Cowboys/Griffin)
and assuming both would be interested in each other.

The fact they haven't even ask Crawford to take a pay cut ( although he's volunteered ) should tell you he's not going anywhere.

Rumor is Jerry wants to tear up Crawford’s current contract and resign him to a 4-year, $140M contract with $110M in guaranteed money.

Crawford should be cut under any scenario.
