RIP Carl Reiner at age 98

The Dick Van Dyke Show would likely be considered lame or worse by kids today. It is definitely stuck in its early 60's era comedy. To me, it is still one of the funniest television shows I have ever seen. Reiner wrote for that show. It had great humor through and through.

Rest in peace, Mr. Reiner.

When Mel Brooks goes it will be the end of a golden age of comedy in America. They made us laugh without being crude, loud or obnoxious. They didn't need to curse, or graphic sex. They just made good jokes about life.

Just having George Burns playing God was brilliant.
:hammer:

He died a few years before Oh, God! was made but I really think Jack Benny could have been just as good as George Burns playing God. Maybe a touch better in my opinion.

IDK, Benny never had the air of confidence Burns had. Also, was Benny even capable of not being loud?:laugh:

He was definitely funny, and he had that "look at me" type personality, but I stand by my previous statement. I just couldn't see him in that role...and I think his somewhat effeminate delivery would've offended a certain group of people.
