STURM IS A YES MAN. This msm culture in Dallas that panders to Jerry and the Jones family is partly why folks dont take sports writers seriously anymore. Its all opinion "fluff" or hit pieces... no meat on the bone, no facts. I'm not sure there is 1 trustworthy sports reporter left in Dallas that reports honestly about Dallas.

So you aren’t going to believe that all his close friends or HIS BROTHER don’t reflect anything about how Dak feels? Dak isn’t telling his boys to stop burning bridges?

It wouldn't be the first time family members and/or friends have either not really know what really happened or were told something the person knows isn't exactly true or family members have exaggerated things because they they think it will help things. Like I said you can believe what you want but I'll wait until one of the 4 people that were actually involved in the negotiations to say something.

That's why we all come here. Sure there's some fluff & down right ugly takes, but there's also more than just a few nuggets of actual truth. Enough to help get us thinking beyond the blatantly obvious stuff.

Nope. Hes a joke these days

He really tried to criticize the throw Romo made to Crayton in the 07 playoff game that Crayton dropped. He said it was a bad pass :laugh:

All in an attempt to defend Prescott. #pathetic

not even remotely a joke

don’t know anything about that but it doesn’t erase the years of fantastic analysis and content he’s provided. Sturm is the ish

And that’s perfectly fine as long as it doesn’t cost us more next year to resign him
If its a million or so a year more, it would just be breakeven anyway.
Much more than that and they better hope letting McCarthy see him 1st hand in his scheme was worth a little extra.

You obviously dont follow his work, or you another one of them Dak-stanleys.

He is dug in on his stance that Dak is a great QB, and he is making a fool of himself in his posts. Dont get mad at me for dissing your boy

I don't buy the idea that Dak is that ignorant for one second.
But yet you liked this post earlier in the thread.

"So, Dak clearly doesn't want to burn the bridge, but he hired a bridge burner?
Is he just dumb then?"

So I dont really know where you stand if you dont even know.

Dallas drafted a QB and then went and got Dalton during the pandemic, all after first offering Dak a contract. The latest excuse that I read was they wanted to get the contract done, but they just ran out of time at 4 pm.

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/20...ried-last-minute-long-term-dak-prescott-deal/

And Dak’s brother also called out the Cowboys publicly.
Daks Brother would be a great forum user icon name, whatever ...lol
New forum members scrambling to grab the name... Daks Brother.... Iconic

3 – With the massive uncertainty going into next season, both sides had plenty of reasons to punt the issue for a year and let Dak play on the Tag. Its no big loss for Dak because his weekly paycheck this year will be equal to 93% of what he made for all of last season.

The overall tone of his article is that no one should freak out or assume anything is different now than a month ago, this just resets the clock by a year. In the middle of a hurricane, that isn’t a bad thing for Dallas or Dak.

Why would Dak be in a hurry to sign a long term deal next year, 1 year away from free agency, with the Cowboy having to fork over 38mil to tag him and even make that 1 year?
And that's after playing for 2 mil last year, and refusing a contract.

All evidence points to Dak never signing long term here. I'd trade him now.

Some interesting points about the Dak Contract Situation from Bob Sturm in his latest column. To paraphrase –

1 – He firmly believes the contract gets done months ago if the pandemic hadn’t happened. France’s strategy is partly about pressuring the team with the player held out of the offseason workouts and meetings. No offseason contact, no pressure on the team.

2 – Goff’s contract was the benchmark but Goff regressed after signing it. So Dallas likely believed matching that contract was a significant raise for Dak but Todd France would think the numbers would have to be significantly over it. And France has a history of burning bridges with the contracts of Joey Bosa, Aaron Donald and DeAndre Hopkins. Dak clearly doesn’t want to burn the bridge but he is responsible for hiring a bridge-burner, which would also explain the reports that he was dealing directly with the team at the deadline .

3 – With the massive uncertainty going into next season, both sides had plenty of reasons to punt the issue for a year and let Dak play on the Tag. Its no big loss for Dak because his weekly paycheck this year will be equal to 93% of what he made for all of last season.

One part of this story that I do take exception to is the idea that Dak had to step in and try to get a deal done at the end. The only evidence that could support that would be to see Dak Fire France as his agent. Because any agent that forced a player into having to negotiate for themselves would be fired. No if's, and's, or but's about it.

So if France is fired, I'll believe that to be true. If he's not? The story never happened. And that's what I believe at this point. Slater's report of a last minute attempt to sign isn't true.
