It’s true. We here are all cowboys fans.

That being said. If you’re a player and you want to play where you have the best chance to win. I wouldn’t choose Dallas. I choose New England or Baltimore or Seattle or Pittsburgh over Dallas in that regard. Not to mention some other franchises as well.

It’s a sad state of affairs.

Edit: I am hopeful that a real head coach like McCarthy can change that in Dallas. I just worry about the Jones’ boys getting in the way.
It’s a fair argument.

It’s been discussed before that no one really expects anyone to have success under Jerry anymore. Not the success we had with Jimmy.

Dak despite not having as strong supporting cast on offense at other venues could be surrounded with a less dysfunctional organization . The Jones present the greatest obstacle in the NFL to overcome.

so dak has his own talking puppet now to voice things he cant? it is possible.
Yeah. I'm not saying anything definitively, but it could happen. Kevin Durant made up people to defend himself on whatever it is... Twitter with burner accounts.

new headline: Fired coach says Dak doesn't want to be here.

Bryan Broaddus doesn't even really buy it as he clarified.
Has the Dallas(read Stephen Jones) method of leaking details to the media during contentious contract talks fray somenerves? Yes.
Did Dak sign his franchise tender ensuring he would be in Dallas this year before he had to? Yes.

Teams set the market and no one ever questions when teams overpay as not being fair. So whatever dallas offered isn't fair? I thought they were responsible for setting their market.

How does it work one way but not the other?

First off, how does "overpay" even get determined? Because the only people yelling about overpay is from "regular joe" fans who will never dabble in those types of figures. If you're talking about a player who doesn't live up to their contract after it's done, those are the risks associated with contracts in general but even they don't have much of an effect. As I told someone else, did Gurley's deal affect McCaffrey's richest deal ever? No, because there was also Zeke's to go on which hasn't even kicked in yet. That's just how it works. You compare the latest deals compared to the player's production and go from there.

The Cowboys are free to think Dak is NOT worth the recent deals but the way it's done is you compare the recent deals and Dak's rumored offers were not near those when you talk guarantees, which is probably the most important figure. No one can say Dak's play hasn't been close to or better than Wentz or Goff's so what's the hangup in offering guarantees commensurate to asking to lock him up for 5 years? If you're Dak and think you're on par with those guys, the guarantee offers should have reflected that. They didn't so he absolutely shouldn't have signed. So once again, no one can address that article which proves my point that the guarantee offers weren't in line which is why no one wants to address them and only talk AAV. Not fair offers from where I sit. Address the guarantees if you feel otherwise.

Im listening to the fan right now and I find all of this wonderful. Dak is upset Garrett was let go.

When the shoe is on the other foot it sure sucks doesn't it.

When Garrett takes over as the head coach in NY or Detroit or Wherever I hope he takes Dak with him.

also Bryan Broaddus is a snitch and always has been so I take what he says as 50/50.

Broaddus told shaun sharif this morning on the fan that he believes Dak and Todd France did not negotiate in good faith because he does not want to be here.

the way I see it, it only shows he wanted to play, it just happens to be the cowboys.
And he wanted that 31 mil most of all.
his other option would be to not play and give up the 32mil , and even he is not that stupid. It would serve no purpose to not play or not sign as u put it.

The time to show he wanted to be a cowboy for many years to come was
when he was being offered a fair contract.

.

That's true, however I think once a player has been on a team they often factor in the relationships built and what their families might want.

As for Dak specifically, I would be surprised if he doesn't want to play in Dallas, but there is no way to know what is in his head and heart. I don't think a tough negotiation tells that story. There is, after all, a business side to it, just as there is for the team. I think fans lose sight of that sometimes and tend to think in terms of their own experiences playing in their youth for recreational or school teams. It's not the same.

I hate this "anonymous source" stuff. What Cowboys coach said it? If that can't be confirmed (and I understand why they wouldn't say who) then it's no different than me saying that a member of Cowboys staff told me to write this post. You can't confirm, so I can make it up as I go. This is gossip. Maybe a coach believes that and told him that (which still doesn't really mean anything) or maybe he's starting it himself and nobody said it. It's terrible reporting bc it's giving Dak a bad rep with fans for something he probably doesn't even feel.

Maybe its Jon Kitna himself. Broaddus talked with him a lot and mentioned him regularly last year. Another guy Broaddus talked to a bunch was Gary Brown.

Jon Kitna referred to Dak as a "Rare Individual" and a "Stud" who reminded him of Warren Moon.

Broaddus mentioned that the former coach said Dak is a stud mentally.

also Dak spent the quarrantine working out with Jon Kitna.

Connect the dots here and it would make sense that Broaddus talked to Kitna and maybe he knows or believes Dak does not want to be here.

and another thing, Broaddus is a snitch....he may have been told this in passing without permission to repeat it yet he did because....he is a snitch.

Exactly. It comes across as tabloid journalism. Well, not just "comes across as", it is tabloid journalism.

That's possible, but it's also possible there was no coach making a comment. There is no way to hold Broaddus accountable, so who knows. I'm certainly not going to assume it was Kitna or any other coach. It's hard to imagine Dak telling anyone associated with the team that he doesn't want to be a Cowboy anyway, much less a coach.

These guys are part of a sports radio show. They are not journalists.

Save this stuff for the writers who obsess over who the players are dating.

Journalism isn't just limited to print media. Electronic media applies as well.

Well Broaddus knows a lot of people and he has been a media go to forever...because he is a snitch. I would bet he is repeating something told to him that was not supposed to be said publicly.

Broaddus has held the opinion all along since the start of the offseason that the team itself meaning the jones's were questioning if Dak is the guy.

The one thing I find interesting with this is that this is the first time Dak has had to deal with change. Real change. If all this stuff is marginally true he is not handling it well.

Imagine if he had to go from Parcells To Wade To Garrett.
