If you want to be more accurate, in the past ten drafts the Seahawks have drafted 25th, 15th, then went THREE years without a first round pick, 31st, NO pick again, 27th, 29th and 27th. None of those picks panned out to be worthwhile. This article brings up a good point and shows why this trade is not that bad assuming history repeats itself.

Also, if people want to compare us giving up our first rounders, the closest comparison based on where the Hawks have drafted over the past ten years would be equivalent to us giving up Taco and Cooper (who would have hit FA anyways most likely this last year). So we would have given up a two year rental with no results and a guy we cut, in exchange for a young safety who is probably the best in the game and would be worth the contract, especially in comparison to what we’ve paid other guys on this roster.
