Had Jerry pulled that trade, giving up a player 2 1st rd picks and 2 mid round picks people here would have gone bat **** crazy claiming he lost his mind. Adams is a very good player, is he worth 2 1st? 2 mid and a vet player? Hell no

I couldn't agree more. To take your statement a step further, can you imagine ESPN or Fox Sports analysts reactions? The Seahawks are a SB contender and made a power move. If this was a Jerry Jones trade they would be saying Dallas mortgaged their future for a safety.

I don't think Seahawks are any more of a contender than Dallas. They were a wildcard team bumped out by GB. the year before they were bumped out by Dallas. Bottom line, they paid a kings ransom for a safety? I don't give up 2 1st and 2 mids and a player unless I'm getting a QB out of the deal.

Getting to the playoffs is one thing, contending one a title is another. They had a loaded roster that could of been a dynasty, but these trades set them back to becoming more of a playoff team then a championship one.
How do you know these trades set them back? Are you assuming they would have drafted a stud every time at the end of the first draft?

So again, since your basically claiming all teams that don’t win the Super Bowl aren’t successful, who do you consider more successful other than Patriots?

This is ridiculous, everything you’re saying is hypothetical, we can do that with every team. The one fact is that they have recently been to 2 Super Bowls and have been the second winningest team for the past decade. That’s called consistency, not a flash in the pan like Cowboys occasionally are in the worst division in the league.

But clearly a lot of people here want to keep laughing at a successful team for what they do while applauding what our mediocre “GM” has done. Keep the faith, I’ve been hearing “next year” for over 20 years and the results have been the same but there’s always a new excuse.

Wrong, actually the most detailed article on this trade that I’ve read is on ESPN and the review is far from glowing for the Seahawks. Not to mention, the Seahawks were an inch away from the conference championship last year, the Cowboys were 8-8 in the worst division in football. I’d say the SB contender part for them would be justified, not so much us.

The only reason I’m more optimistic about this team now than before the draft is because of Lamb and that’s assuming he’s as studly in the NFL as he was in college. I just don’t see how any team will be able to cover everyone on this offense, with the exception of maybe Seattle since they now have the best secondary in the league if they didn’t already.

Well, I'm watching Get Up this morning and all the talk is about the Seahawks, Bucs, 49ers and Saints being the top teams in the NFC and the SB lead horses from the conference.

Yes, people have lauded the Jets haul this morning but...check out ESPN television some time today.

Yep. The Hawks got a great player at a ridiculous price. Will they be better? Yes.

Will they miss those picks? Yes.

Completely agree with you. Had Dallas made the same move, the media and our fan base would be roasting the Jones’ boys.

Ha, good recommendation, just turned it on. Hard to argue about those teams until the Cowboys prove themselves which hopefully they will.

For some reason I am listening to the fan right now. RJ Choppy's ignorance and stupidity is off the charts. It always has been but this morning he really was on a roll.

Things he said today.

The seahawks have no other talent on defense than adams.
The seahawks have no offensive weapons and their offensive line is terrible.
They only win because of wilson.
The coaching staff and front office in Seattle are awful and among the leagues worst.

This guy is on a level all his own in this market. It takes work to be this ignorant.

btw all this was said because he was essentially defending dak prescott.

Will they miss those picks though? Based on the past ten years I would say no. Of course I’m assuming their picks are towards the bottom of the 1st where they typically are.

I get they’re first round picks and you can’t always rely on history but within ten years they’ve had 0 picks in the first 4 times, and all others have been busts unless you count 2010. They oddly do better in later rounds than the first so there’s good reason to believe at least one of those picks would be a bust, if not two, especially if the 2021 draft is a cluster. They now have the best safety in the league. It’s really not as bad as it seems.

They rebuilt their secondary and found a number 1 wr and number 1 rb last year. Those guys are going to get better. They are among the best teams in the league and much better than anyone in the east.

the downfall for the seahawks this year is going to be the advantage they have playing at home without fans.

Sorry I'm not sold on seahawks as you seem to be. I think it was a stupid trade giving up 2 1st rd picks, 2 mid rd picks and a player for Adams. I know damn well had Jerry made that move every critic here would be going crazy and even those who support this team would be upset. In my view you do not give up those type of picks and will be forced to pay a boat load on a contract to Adams.

There will be no contract extension for Jamal this year and he himself said their is a chance he doesnt agree to one bext year. So 2 1's and 3 for a two year rental is steep

For the seahawks giving up picks is not that big of a deal. I think we are better at drafting so for us to give up 3 potential starters for a safety....that's a hard pass.

Can’t stand them, whats his name (drawing a blank but it’s clear who I’m talking about) is like listening to the dude version of a valley girl.

They should be called the dbag nation, not the gbag nation.

How do I know? They haven't been back to the Super Bowl since. They had a loaded roster, perhaps the most talented at the time, but had to go through somewhat of a rebuild due to giving up all these future picks. Wilson is a top 3 QB in this league, he is the reason why they have been in the playoffs so much. Look at what they have surrounded Wilson with, a bunch of average players, especially along the OL. The talent level on this team is average at best.

You can only look at what has happened, everything is hypothetical cause we do not know what players they would of selected if they went in that direction. Before destroying the NFC East as being the worst division, the same thing was said about the NFC West when Seattle started their run. Outside of Seattle's 1 super bowl victory, the NFC East has the same with the Eagles.

He is an extremely versatile defender, which does indeed up his value. There is an awful lot you could do with him.

I’d LOVE to have him in Dallas. That’s simply too much to give up for him though, IMO.

Agreed. I was all for trading for Adams but this is just too cost prohibitive.

When you add in the fact you’ll have to pay him as the top player at the position it’s just too rich.

Good luck to him; I’m sure he’ll be great there.

Dallas won’t even spend a single pick on a safety in the first 3 rounds of the draft. There was no way they were going to trade 2 1sts, a 3rd, and a solid player for Jamal Adams.

I think giving up that much for safety is foolish. Normally you see these types of deals involving QB not safeties. Adams is a good physical safety who they use to blitz yet he is not creating turnovers as we see from some of the best safeties in the league. Hell I would be willing to go a 1st rd pick for him, knowing the team would also have to pay him big but giving up 2 1st, 2 mid round and a player for him? no way

I am with you on this. Adams would have made this defense better for sure.

However, the cost was too much and, putting on my tin foil hat here, I think the Cowboys want to have their full stockpile of picks the next year or two because they may take a QB early in 2021.

Commence Dakster hysteria.
