Has anyone finished their degree later in life? I just enrolled to finish my degree that I started when I was 18. Has anyone else done this? Thoughts?

Business management, I’ve been wanting to finish for years just never took the initiative. But I figured with how everything is why not.

I went back in my 30s. I was simply too irresponsible earlier in my life.

It was a great experience overall, a little humbling, but worth every bit of the investment i put in.

I wish you nothing but success, the pride of accomplishment alone is worth the effort.

I finished my degree when I was 38 in fact my military retirement and college degree are dated the same date.

When i went back to school i had one class in common with my 70+ year old uncle who decided he wanted to get a degree after a career as a flight instructor.

He finished in four years.

That's cool man. I never went to college and dropped out of high school. I wish I had because I would probably be further in my career now. When I interviewed for my current job, they had the whole company (20 people) sit around a table and pepper me with questions. Afterward, they took a vote on whether to hire me. I found out later that everyone voted yes except the owner and his reason was that I didn't have a college degree. He had to be talked into hiring me.

That's awesome that you're doing what you want with your life. Young or old, if you want something, go for it. I got my degree when I was young, and haven't gotten any other degree since then, but I did go back to college to take some computer programming classes just because I wanted to be able to write my own programs. It's way different as an older student. I was more focused and determined not to waste any time. When I was younger, I majored in German in college, and it was worth learning the language. Much later, at age 48, I decided to learn French by studying it on my own. Now I'm good enough at French that I can use it on my job. Life isn't just for the young. It's great to find something you want to learn or do, and then just go for it, regardless of any stereotypes about age.

Congratulations! I have been trying to figure out how I can make it happen and keep my weird work schedule. I work a month on and a month off, so it is a real challenge.

I graduated college at 21. After I retired at 50 I went back and got my real estate and life insurance licenses and an annuities endorsement. I've invested in RE for about 28 years so that was pretty easy and I have life insurance and annuities, so that was pretty easy too. I use to RE one for my personal investments and only sell or list with family and friends. Was about to start helping friends with retirement annuities and insurance when all this started, so I haven't used those yet. It's been fun and gives me something to do, once in a while.
