Keeping it classy. See you twice this year. Hope you don’t bring the same playbook. We will expect you to pass 3 straight times if your inside the 10...

Meh, he got paid a lot, ended up being mediocre at best and held the franchise back. Glad he is gone.

I’m not counting division wins.

And I forgot the ‘16 win @ Packers.

I’m sure there are more. These are the ones that really stand out to me. Games they actually won where they were expected to lose by almost everyone.

Keep trying.

I think Saquon Barkley's a great player and he seems like an authentically good person, so I want him to succeed.

But the first time Garrett loads him up in 13 personnel and sends him over LG on 1st down, I will feel so vindicated.

“I’m glad to finally be where my heart truly is. I was actually purposely trying to sabotage the Cowboys as long as possible. No one could really be as dumb a coach as I pretended to be. I won just enough to avoid being fired but made sure the team flamed hard when it counted most. Jerry and Stephen finally caught on to my ruse this past season after it became too evident that we had too much talent to not win more than we did. I really thought after that dupe of the century, when I won coach of the year, Jerry would give me a lifetime contract and then my evil plan to keep the team out of the SB (or any meaningful post season games) would fully be realized and cemented for decades. it wasn’t to be. Now my concern is that the Cowboys might actually start winning Super Bowls again. But alas, at least I was able to ensure they wasted the careers of multiple HOFers and that they never even made a NFC championship game despite having the most talented roster a number of times...so overall I consider my time there a great success at ensuring failure.”
JG on his time in Dallas.

Garrett didn't reach his and the organization's goals, nor fulfill our hopes as head coach with the Cowboys. He hasn't bad mouthed our team and organization in any shape or form since joining the Giants as OC.

Jerry and Stephen kept him here for nearly a decade. That was as much their decision. Overall it has been a dismal decade of Cowboys football. Certainly it wasn't all on Garrett but he was a key part of it. Garrett had us almost always qualifying for the race, sometimes at pole position, but never had us cross the finish line first.

I don't see any point in vilifying him as there was plenty of underachievement to go around in the organization starting with the ownership and management. Now there is truly concrete change within this organization. The team appears to be significantly improved with greater talent and experienced players and coaches. If this season holds up barring injuries and viral illness, we could be serious post season contenders.

lol about as generic as it gets.

I don't think we fans like the coaches who speak PC, at least in Big D. You had Jimmy and Barry all those years which is about as off the cuff as you can get. But none of that from Garrett who was trained in those years. Then you start winning again with Parcells who definitely knew how to speak his mind.

Garrett was a championship appearance away from wide support from fans despite whatever flaws or personality conflicts we had with him.

Fans bashed Wade, Bill and the rest of our HC’s this era for similar lack of success.

Success allows the arrogance we often see exuberant from coaches. Parcells had it from his success elsewhere.

If you really think about it, Garrett didn’t have that many “great” days when it came to winning big games over a 10 year HC career. You can actually count them on one hand:

2014 @ Seahawks

2016 @ Steelers

2018 Saints in a 3 point home win.

I’m not even going to count the playoff win against the Seahawks. Their season ended the following week.

I wish him well in NY but I won’t miss him in the least.

Oh he had hella great days... the many days he got paid for doing a subpar job + all the days he avoided losing his job when it was well overdue.

I like him as a person too and wish him well, but in no way, shape or form do I think he deserved to be head coach of this team even 1/3 of the time he was.

This is a lot of stretching for a reason to criticize. Okay, he wasn't a good enough coach, and, like most fans, I'm glad the Cowboys finally made a change, but I how in the world are these comments something to complain about?

Fair for you to feel this way. I'm not necessarily complaining, nor do I have any issue with his statement. I saw an ironic comment and chose to capitalize on it is all. He spoke kindly of the organization, his time here and his many relationships. The jerk in me just couldn't pass up the opportunity lol

Not a huge list, but just for trivia's sake.....

BEST teams that Dallas beat with Garrett at the helm, but also taking into account where they beat them

  1. AT Seattle in 2014 (12-4, Super Bowl Runner-up)
  2. AT San Francisco in 2011 (13-3, Super Bowl runner-up)
  3. AT Pittsburgh in 2016 (11-5 AFC runner-up)
  4. Indianapolis in 2014 (11-5, AFC runner-up)
  5. New Orleans in 2018 (13-3, but 1st rd exit)
  6. Detroit in 2014 PLAYOFFS (11-5 team w/ dominant defense)
  7. AT Philadelphia in 2013 (10-6 so-so team, but division winner on-road)
  8. AT Green Bay in 2016 (10-6 so-so team)
  9. AT Cincinnati in 2012 (10-6 so-so team)
  10. Seattle in 2018 PLAYOFFS )10-6 so-so team, at home)
  11. AT NY Giants in 2012 opening (2011 SB winner, road division)
  12. Kansas City in 2017 (10-6 so-so team)
  13. AT Houston in 2014 (9-7 so-so team on road)
again, this isn't a list of biggest wins (playoff and division wins would be at the top) , but instead, rough stab at best teams that we beat
