Blake Jarwin took exception to comments made by Cleveland’s Austin Hooper about Jason Witten’s reported unwillingness to help. “You talk about a leader in the tight end room. He taught me a lot,” Jarwin said. “I know there’s been rumors that may be he wasn’t the best teammates to the tight ends and I couldn’t disagree more. Me and (Dalton) Schultz talked quite a bit about that lately, just what we’ve learned from him the respect for the game he has and what he’s taught us as players.”

I still can't figure out why anyone finds this interesting. Good for him.

Not surprising at all.

And I think what Hooper said was tongue-n-cheek, but somehow taken seriously.

Still, I was ready for Witten to move on.

maybe too many people listened to and believed martellus.
Even Marty B came out later, after he matured some, and admitted his attitude hurt him with Witten.
Even TO scolded MB about it....telling him if wanted to be a real Pro, he needed to soak in what Witten had to offer and shut the heck up.
If Witten thinks you really want to listen and learn, and put in the time, he was always willing to teach and lead. But he wasn't going to kiss some young kids butt.

Witten couldn't beat the tortoise in a foot race. That is one of the reasons why he now wears black and silver.

Nice of Jarwin to take up for his former teammate.

Gotta like the attitude. Not as many entitled divas in the UDFAs. He *could* have been disgruntled about Witten taking so many snaps last year. Most of us were. Instead, classy. I hope he works out.

Witten always had the reputation as not wanting to help other TEs, but that likely did change last year, with Witten seeing his career wind down, and wanting to take up coaching.

Witten's YPT dropped a yard after Romo left. Even in 2016, when the running game was totally dominant. Probably always needed a guy who could throw him open.

It was time
But witten couldn’t help players who didn’t think they needed help like MB
The most important thing witten could teach anyone is work ethic
He was never a great athlete but he worked hard and played smart
That’s why he’s getting a gold jacket

Or there were defensive tackles on this team that were faster than him
