Every time you see a report like this during team practices you have to ask if the guy winning that good? or is the guy losing just not very good? We hope Aldon Smith is just that good. But it could just be that Tyron is losing it a little more each year. We will not know until they face other competition.

I am rooting for Aldon.

I’ve been saying it since the moment he was signed; if Aldon Smith hadn’t gone off the rails he’d be mentioned along with the greatest of all time, Reggie White, Bruce Smith, etc. He’s an absolute beast and he’s going to take over games since he’ll be blocked 1 on 1.

I'll take this every day of the week.

Theres always that camp oddness of when one player wins someone else loses, but I have zero worries about Tyron from a skill POV.

If Aldon Smith was smoking Mitch Hyatt, that's something else.

i measure tyron by what he does in a game when the stakes are on the line and the competitive adrenaline is up.
Some players are better when the game is on, than in practice sessions.

what i am glad for is Tyron not having his usual summer back inflammation issues or other nagging injuries.
But he's not gonna get that much of a rest for Ty with Everson Griffen about to start his own practice sessions too.

But i'm not taking anything away from Aldon either. He's just a great natural pass rusher- and he may be displaying that
even after all these years off, imo.

When two high level players compete against one another, they usually win some, lose some. I do not think Tyron skill set is declining what so ever, if he gets his hands on you, it's a done deal. Aldon is a freak athlete, that possesses all the natural athletic abilities, he just maybe the type of player who can get out of bed and rush the passer. Him having success early on against Tyron is very, very encouraging.

He can lose a little for years and still be a top level OT. im not worried about Smith.

Well, if Tyron Smith is slipping this is the last year of any decent dead cap money ($5.29M) as next season his cap hit is $12.245M with just $1.745M of dead money remaining.
