News: Drew Pearson selected to HOF as senior nominee

I stand corrected, there is plenty of precedence for still being denied. It's happened 5 times since 1994.

It’s definitely still a good sign. Though I guess if we’re looking at it objectively the senior nomination is mostly important for getting older guys considered... once you are nominated the qualifications are exactly the same as before. And Drew has been before the committee many times, and last I checked his stats haven’t changed.
It will be interesting if the crying is what ends up pushing him over the edge...

Would love sitting in the corner while the selection committee discusses Pearson's induction legitimacy during the upcoming consideration sessions. He is the last freaking guy on the 1970's All-Decade Team NOT in the Hall. Pearson's exclusion has been unquestionably criminal.

This is great news. Pardon my lack of knowledge on this particular subject. He was up for the Hall earlier this year and was denied. What exactly is this new nomination? Did they vote again? Or, is this something different.

I believe it is different in that it is a panel of writers and others who vote to elect nominees who have been overlooked and deserving of a nomination becuz of their contributions in the NFL.

I am sure there is more to it that some of the knowledgeable ones here can add. But it carries weight in the final selection process. I think Jimmy Johnson got in the HofF this way.

Amigo, did you really mean to say Patience? Lynn Swann got in years ago. Pearson's talent was equal to Swann's in many respects. Both played against one another in the 70's! I'd say Patience is way misused here. If your comment is under Pearson, you probably meant Pearson.
