Nice to hear.

Zeke needs to get in tiptop shape, period. That's what's been holding him back. Unless he gets after conditioning, he'll always be good, but leave you wanting more.

And if his goal is truly a super bowl, then he needs to quit holding out and concentrating on his contract and start studying the game and keep himself in the best shape possible. Up til now, his primary goal has not been a super bowl. Hope he's serious.

Define fragile. Lots of other RB’s take much more of a beating every game just to get a few yards on each play because their O line sucks yet they still avg more ypc.

Teams like SF go RB by committee and are very successful. There’s zero sense in paying one back that much money unless it’s McCaffrey.

Where do you get your oline rankings from?

- Both possessed terrific power and strength, great balance, tough to corral, always going forward even upon getting tackled,
excellent blitz-blockers and an outstanding nose for the goal line. Both were great secure ball handlers and both
are/were incredible durable.

But while Emmitt was more of a dump-off safety valve guy in the pass game, who wasn't much of a feared pass threat,.
. zeke 2016 version had the ability to take a quick screen pass and instantly take it to the house for a TD,

- Emmitt was a methodical bell cow, who could produced a number of 20 yrd runs, while the 2016 Zeke was a combination of power and breakaway homerun threat ability. Beside having bell cow, wear-down production, he also could take it to the house for that 40-50 yard
burst ..And speed is what opposing teams fear the most, ..imo. .

- Another irony ? Both have been immensely helped by top notch OL units.
Yet another irony? Both Emmitt and Zeke have had NFL rushing crowns but yet even in their best single seasons, neither holds
the Cowboys single season rushing yards record. That still belongs to DeMarco Murray.
Go figure.
 
I’m not a huge zeke fan I think he’s regressed and was more a product of the line

I think he hasn’t lived up to his draft status 2016 aside. That said he’s still top 5. I’d love to see more explosion from him . I’m also excited to see what he’s about without Garrett

I’d love to see him more involved in passing game

I think if the offense is truly less predictable then we'll see more explosiveness and production from him.

The issue is. Sometimes he deserves to be bashed. That doesn’t mean we don’t want him. It just means he needs to get his head on straight and this might be a good start

Typically football outsiders because they do the most comprehensive job of breaking it down, specifically with run blocking, pass blocking can be a bit misleading. PFF is ok and there are several other random sites that just give rankings without as much explanation. I have yet to see any analyst or site that hasn’t put
the Cowboys O line in the top 5 since 2016, the lone exception being 2017 when they were 10th in run blocking.

Here’s just a few examples of many but obviously we don’t really know until the season starts. Not surprising, the only people who haven’t thought our O line has been one of the best are the people who always make excuses for Zeke and seemingly don’t watch any other football team other than the Cowboys.

He's missed three games over the last five seasons(2 in pros and 3 in college), with only one injury and you.... think.... he's.... "fragile"? Lol

I guess we have to come up with something to make ourselves think Zeke is better than Barkley.
 
Hell yes he does, he needs to get a lot more explosive if he wants to return to his rookie form.

Not to mention he played on a high ankle sprain most of the season that would have sidelined most RB’s and he still managed over 1,000 yards including the 3 games he missed.

I swear, I’m starting to believe more and more that a lot of these homers don’t watch any other teams play. If they think the punishment that Barkley, or several other RB’s take on a weekly basis, is equivalent to what zeke deals with they are sadly mistaken. A lot of injuries are pure bad luck and there is obviously a much higher percentage of being hurt when a RB is getting mobbed by the defense on almost every play.

zeke has had some horrendous games (ie NO, MN, etc) and the first thing his fan boys do is blame the O line. I’ve never ONCE seen or heard any of them blame a bad game on zeke. I’d like for those guys to think how zeke would do running behind a line like that, and much worse, for all 16 games and then maybe they’ll understand what Barkley, Bell, and lots of other RB’s deal with on a weekly basis.

If they, and zeke, could see and understand that then maybe they would realize why zeke isn’t as special as they think he is. I would love to see him traded to the Jets, Giants, Cleveland, Miami, etc and see how he does. Whereas RB’s like Barkley would pretty much have nowhere to go but up if he played for another team, zeke woukd have nowhere to go but down. He would be rather average because he would have nowhere to run, lacks the speed he had in ‘16, isn’t “elite” in breaking tackles or making defenders miss and isn’t that good at yards after contact.

Amazes me some can find fault with our offense line when it is one of the best simoly because it isn’t as good as 2016, but won’t acknowledge other RBs having to overcome worse lines.

I agree fornthe most part, but there are guys who no matter what he does he wont be good maybe its because of the contract but idk
