the link said:
"The conversations I've been involved with -- we had a chance to get a thorough personnel meeting just two days ago -- we're very confident in where we are as far as the 80-man roster," McCarthy said. "As far as any prospect that's available, those are more conversations for Jerry (Jones), Stephen (Jones) and Will McClay, as far as looking at that situation. So I have nothing really to report."

Left a enough wiggle room and enough on the hook so reports will report FO does not consult with coach.

Sounds like that's it exactly. Big gulf between what the Cowboys will pay and what Thomas wants. Hopefully they won't meet in the middle.

That must the standard response for this organization as sounds very similar to Garrett's response is we like who we have responses in the past, lol.

Sounds like they don't want the headache more than anything else. He's basically burned his bridges too argurably two of the most respected franchises.

The only gamble I would take is if he comes dirt cheap and has a built in clause which removes him from money if he attitude doesn't change. Honestly he might be hard pressed to find a team wiling to deal with him at this point

His game has declined but still better then what we have let alone most teams. Still a difference maker

I'd venture to say the Cowboys have changed their tune about their love for ET.

Perhaps their current safety situation factors into that as well. Seems to be OK.

His stats were only marginally better than X mans. One of them is coming into his prime the other is going out of it. One of them is a headcase the other is not. One is substantially overpaid. We don't need Earl Thomas. If we were going to get him we would had.

All this talk keeps jerry in the news

That’s all you can say at this time. You don’t want the guys on the roster thinking you don’t have faith in them. Once he is signed they will talk about how he complements the current group.

Play has slipped a bit as well. Speed is a big part of his game and getting older never helps.

If he comes in at $4mil on 1 year deal, I think Dallas almost has to do it. Lost best CB so we are fooling ourselves if we don't think Dallas needs DB help.

This is just part of the negotiation. Earl wants to play here but we likely won’t pay as much as other teams.

Stephen made some comments on the Fan just now though that were more than curious.

I simply think Earl is coming to Dallas, and they're trying to handle business quietly, as they did with almost every other FA we signed this offseason.
