Mods I apologize if I posted this thread on the wrong board as I wasn’t sure where to post. Move if you must. Thanks!

I finally cut the cord and cancelled my DirecTV subscription. I live out of the Dallas market and am wondering what everyone else out of market does to get Cowboys games that aren’t televised nationally. I remember reading last year about live Reddit streams. Is that still a thing and if so how do I access? Or, could I access games using one of the popular streaming sites using a VPN to hide my IP address and thus change my location? Just looking for ways to access my Cowboys games as I don’t miss a game and now without Sunday Ticket I have to figure out how. Thanks in advance.

I usually just watch RedZone that day and hang out here.

In the past I'd go find a bar with Sunday Ticket, pick a spot then tip the bartender to put the Cowboys game on that TV.

Just give directv an address within an apartment complex online and you can get NFL ticket without having direcTV. That's how I've done it for years. That is if you are okay paying for it. If you want it free then yea online somewhere I'm sure has it.

Last year used fire stick, my son was able to download an app and jail break the fire stick and was able to get all the games.

Interesting. Was it hard for him to do this. I would like to see all the games, but refuse to pay for NFL ST. I had it from 96 to 2015, stopped it for a year, got it free free for a year. Even though I lived mostly in the DFW since 98, I kept it.
About to call them to see if I can get it free again. I see all the Cowboys games of course, but like the other games too.

I been thinking of dumping DTV, go to a Roku or Firestick, but want to be sure I can get NFLN on them. Can't seem to find and answer to it. And get it not jail broken.
But if jail broke, it would be great to get NFLN and all the games.

No was not a problem for him. Vast majority of the Cowboys games I get any ways but always 1 or 2 that may not be shown here in Houston. However I like seeing the other games of my choosing instead of what local network is showing.

Wait, what? Why am I just now reading about this?

Yea I've done it for 6-7 years now. About 8 years ago I lived in a apartment complex that wouldn't allow direcTV to put a dish up. So they told me since I can't get a dish I could use their online services, which included NFL Ticket. So I logged in online with my, at the time, apartment address. I bought a house 7 years ago and they still just renew my season ticket through the account that is still linked to that apartment address. As a matter of fact I just got my email this morning telling me congrats on my renewal for the upcoming season.

That was the main reason I kept it all those years.
As I liked watching the Bengals games. Then I could watch another competitive games beside the local games they showed.

I was eating until more toward the season, call DTV, either get a reduction in my monthly fees, as last year they would not give me free DTV, but gave me $35 off a month on my bill. As I had free ST the year before plus $15 off my bill. It just depends who you get on the phone. But DTV and AT&T has the worst customer service ever.

When I lived in Florida, in my condo, they had rules, and probably still do about dishes. I only used mine for NFLST and pay per view movies. As the association fees paid for basic cable, and still do. Just pay for any additional packages. I think it is Xfinity.
So I mounted my dish on a concrete block, and set it out back by a tree just off the golf course to protect it ( a lot of bad golfers) Put a piece of plexiglass in front of it as well. LOL. I had it to where I only needed a few minutes to get the best signal. Most of the time it was good as soon as I sat it down.
Any way, that was before they did the on-line deal, plus computers weren't advanced enough then to do it.

However, I was thinking of going back to my condo, and this is what I would have done. The on-line deal. My other option is to use my sons address if I ever needed to this.
Back then it was only $8.95 a month for the service without any packages. And pay for movies and ST only. Now they do not do that, you must have the minimum $29.95 service.

He added kodi and was able to get live streaming games. We are going to invest in VPN as well.
I had the firestick and Kodi as I was planning on "cutting the cord". Worked fine for about six months, then I couldn't get anything to work. May have to be updated periodically? I eventually gave up and still bit the bullet and pay for the Sunday ticket. I console myself with the fact that I am actually saving money compared to spending 3-4 hours at a bar, racking up a large bill, and having to drive home without getting pulled over

Maybe so, he has been using his firestick for over year and no longer uses cable.

Here's someone who gets it instead of publishing devious secrets for the world to see. If I'm the NFL's watchdog, I'm in this thread like:

"Thanks for the info."
