I don't think any of the old guys are. Brady, Brees, Rivers, Rodgers. Last legs. If they even have a leg left.

It looked like both Brady and Rivers had lost some zip on their passes. I think Rodgers attitude will sink him over the next year or 2.

But by and large, maybe Rodgers is questionable, but Brady overall?
You mean career wise? Overall, Brady wasn't good last season. He looks done. Maybe w/ enough talent around him he can Elway it or PManning it. Which means win w/o being great.

Jackson was awesome in 2019. ONE YEAR. Dak was ROY ..won like 13 games his first year. The guy gets no respect. Only way he will get respect is going to the SB and winning

Do you think he'd do better or worse on this team than Dak?

and like him or hate him, Dak has been really consistent. The problem he has had has been lack of direction from the staff. PLUS....the previous HC handcuffed him. We need to let Dak be Dak. Go back to his college tape. Dan Mullin let him do his thing for 5 years and gave him plays that helped him. MM will do the same.

Go back and re watch several games from last season, but especially focus on the 2nd Eagles game with the season on the line. You want to know the real reason why Dak fails to get the respect you and others think he deserves? That is why.

Big time players deserving of huge contract extensions show up in games with the season on the line. Dak was no where to be found that day.

thats fair. But who was the HC? Was Dak out there alone? Did he play D?

This was ranking by that famous "NFL writer", Steven Ruiz, who writes for the world-renowned football publication called "For the Win".

Heard of it?
Or him?
Didn't think so.

His opinions mean exactly as much as anyone on this website....maybe ever.

I love that he likes our QB, because Dak is hear to stay, imo.

But any of using this dudes opinion as any remote sort of validation or point of argument--for good or bad---need to re-think that.

As they mentioned, the staffs of the Athletic (considered one the best staffs) had him 12th, which is not terrible at all. And ESPN's staff--not the level of the Athletic, but still ok--had him 10th.
That 10-12 range dounds pretty fair and is generally where he falls. I think he was evn in about tat range in the NFL networks top 100 (though that can silly at times).

So with Garrett gone we should expect Dak to blossom to the GOAT level? Thats a stretch....

The Dallas D held Philly to 17 points that 2nd game. If Dak shows up it could have been an easy win.

Brees only played in 10 1/2 games last year, yet still threw for 27 TD and only 4 ints...which is somewhat insane.
He did that with a QB rating of 116 and completion % of over 74%....which has to close to an NFL record.

In what world is that not great?

Yes, the stats look great, but I wasn’t referring to the stats. Like Rivers and Brady the arm talent isn’t what it once was just happens with age. Brees is still a crafty QB, but I wouldn’t put him top 5 as of now Jeff.

Fwiw, and on a side note, Arians says Brady is slinging it 60-65 yards accurately and with ease to Mike Evans this pre-season.

I’m not hating on Brady he’s one of the best to ever play, but I know I’m not the only one who saw that he lacked zip on his passes, especially as the season wore on. Maybe that warmer weather will be a blessing for him. I’m curious to see how he does down there. Maybe he had an undisclosed injury that was bothering him.

I railed on Dak his first year, but I like the way he’s developing and how hard he works.

Not putting Watson above Dak, and after one full season as a starter, not ready to put Jackson above him either.

Brees, I can go with that and of course Mahomes. I can see Wilson too.
And Several others right in that same level as Dak. Kind of goes with the thread on the poll, where does one rank Dak. 6 to 10 range for me, with room to move up.

The league as a whole has a lot of talent at the QB position. Feels like in years past this wasn’t the case, but it’s great for the league.
