the gladiator plays to the mob. a play involving a momentum change is made more so by the cheering of the fans. fans pay homage to the players. players pay homage to the fans. imagine if there had been no fans to hear the shot heard around the world. imagine drew pearson introducing the 5 time, 5 time, 5 time world champion dallas cowboys pick to an empty room. can anyone really believe the fans don't matter? i am stupified by such a thought. imagine a note on the conference hall door at cern saying we're pleased to announce proof positive of the higgs boson. that is all. stay tuned for news of the next breakthrough.

The payoff for us is that they should focus the cameras more on the field and the action and not draw attention to the lack of fans. Ya gotta accentuate the positive!

The possible payoff for me is the possibility of fewer individuals playing "look at me" like they've never made a play. Guess what, that's what they're paid to do.

Do any of you run around showing off after completing an assigned task by your employer? Does the copy machine repair guy strike a pose or flex his bicep after doing his job? But I cannot say he wouldn't if 60,000 people were watching him do it.
i stand over a downed dove and shout booyah at the top of my lungs.

I have a better solution, teams at home with no fans, canned noise should be used from last years games.
It would be regulated decibel wise and situation wise by a independent NFL personnel to give a similar effect based on games last year.
This would be pumped out by loudspeakers instead of the crappy music they normally blast out.
it would give players similar situation and fans at home would feel like fans are there as long as they dont constantly show the empty stadiums.

In fact it is very stupid for the nfl and the networks airing the game to show the empty seats in limited att games, and more so no fans at all.
That is just dumb lol from a marketing perspective.
Heck if I was in charge, their would be no mention of it, and it would not be shown at all , and it would seem like a normal game.

The op was affected by what they did and so will others, and why I speculate that ratings will go down, and that will hurt networks and nfl.
Very stupid the way it is being handled.
I’d be fine with anything that’s implemented the same at all NFL cities.

I think it’s important for everyone to remember these aren’t normal times. That’s part of what showing the empty stands represents.

We all know this could all end or be interrupted any week. And or players & coaches withheld.

We saw Kraft sitting in his skybox with a mask . I’ll be curious if Jethro will be making an appearance in LA tonight.

I watch the Redzone so fans aren't important to.my viewing.

As for our game, let's be honest....LA's stadium would be 60/40 DAL fans.
Yea, I have Redzone on main TV. And have the sound turned down on the other TV’s and games. So crowd noise is meaningless . It’s tough enough listening to announcers :)

Totally agree. It's going to take a while to get conditioned to the sterile atmosphere.

Watching the games today, I actually love the fact that I can hear what’s going on on the field. The clack of the pads, how much more clear the QB cadence is. I really enjoy that. Never payed attention to the fans anyway, so it’s a plus for me.

plus the Sheagles are losing to that team in Washington!

After watching baseball last two months I was actually encouraged.

Maybe when they see last night didnt result in a ton of deaths, we can begin to get back to normal.
Its not about deaths & we are never going back yo "normal"
