That game was awful

Not only was that game awful for the short term it hurt us bad in the long term.

Jarwin? Out for season.. We had a dynamic TE finally on the field for us and now it's back to a few yards and a cloud of dust with Schultz if we're lucky.

LVE? IR. Broken Collarbone.. Is that something he can come back from and play this year?

Coaching? They got schooled by McVay. I'm going to hold off on saying our defense is terrible because the coaches did not have them prepared at all for all of the misdirection...

Any time we made Goff actually drop back and read a defense he looked poor and our guys looked pretty decent.

Offense? I liked what I saw from the RB's. Zeke looked incredible. Dak looked like a ho hum player. The wideouts didn't explode like I was hoping. It just really looked all too familiar and keeping the same system is fine but you can't tell me Dallas wouldn't have looked better doing what the Rams were doing on offense.

It's just disappointing. Bad coaching decisions. More of the same. It looked like a Jason Garrett team.

It’s too early to tell, but this isn’t anything new that McVay was doing. That’s why he’s the youngest HC in the league. He’s good. Our Dline got pushed back almost every play. They started to settle down later.

Dak looked decent and made some good runs. The problem is we never had the ball. They owned TOP and we couldn’t get in a rhythm. Zeke was awesome. Coop and Gallup were good too.

The whole Coaching staff was wiped out personal wise except for the OC and the exact same scheme that hasn’t worked for a decade. How in the world can an owner watch this and not explode! There is exactly ZERO change. Looks like another 8 win season. If they’re lucky. Just like NFL network just said, the Cowboys are cotton candy. Looks good from a distance but melts away.

Holy cow Batman the JG look. It will get better. What disturbs me is MM was hired to take the O to the next level yet Scott Linehan or JG could of called this game.

3 whole points in the 2nd half and some here are still gonna blame the coaching

Let’s face it. It’s the 40 million dollar Qb and his offense that falters once again.

Garrett’s not here to blame Dakota failures on any longer......I guess MM gets the blame now:rolleyes:

Im very concerned with the same old offense. However we moved the ball pretty well.....it’s just the slow developing plays with this Oline is not going to work.

LOL...….We didn't have a dynamic TE, not even close. You just thought we did. TE was one of the weakest positions on the team and it still is. Position needs to be totally overhauled. Jarwin was a finesse TE that couldn't block. A running team needs an all around TE not a glorified WR at TE.

The Rams are just a horrible team to open a season with, especially when you have an entirely new coaching staff.

The new coaching staff should've gave us an element of surprise.

It was the Cowboys who got surprised.

They hid their little training camp like they had something worth hiding and I guess you could say they did surprise some of us because it was the same ole crap as always.

Dude please. If they aren't some cool hype guy like CeeDee Lamb for example you chalk them up as terrible.

There is about 5 good TE's in this league and a bunch of guys and Jarwin was ready to break into the bunch of guys category because he does have the ability to make plays vertically.

Couldn't agree more. Came onto the site to basically say the same things. I kind of ate the cheese on the Cowboys this year and that loss was terribly deflating. The team was flat out coached. McVay made Mike look bad and it was mostly the assistants.

The one thing I would add is that the defensive tackles again were getting driven way off the ball. I didn't expect that. It seemed like the line of scrimmage was being pushed a few yards the wrong way on every running play.

I'm sure Dallas is going to have some games where they beat bad teams 40-10 and its going to cause certain people to puff out their chests but from what I saw, a lot of the issues from last year have not been fixed.

I will say that the defense actually adjusted. Dallas started keeping defenders in the flats and that stopped what LA was doing. It took longer than I would have hoped but an actual in game defensive adjustment was nice to see.

This was one of the main factors of the game - McVay keeping Goff out of traditional drop backs. McVay should literally get half of Goff's enormous salary.
The other big point IMO was the Dallas OL sorta faltering as the game wore on. Obviously the undrafted rookie struggled the more Dallas had to pass. But honestly other than Tyron, Im not sure anyone on the OL played particularly well...

You mean like I nailed Dak, Taco, Woods, Pollard, Gallup. Just to name a few recent ones. Heck, I even nailed Aldon Smith this year. Lamb is an easy call and Im well on my way to nailing Hill. Another easy call was nailing Diggs and him starting immediately.

Here you sit claiming you thought Jarwin was "a dynamic TE". "Jarwin was ready to break in to the BUNCH OF GUYS CATEGORY"? :lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

Jarwin has the ability to "make plays vertically"? Wow...…………...so dynamic.

FYI...……….there are very good TE all over the NFL. Jarwin is at the bottom of the heap. Dallas probably has one of the worst TE groups and starters in the NFL even before Jarwin got hurt.

If you want to know about a player, just ask. :espn:

LVE is made of glass, he’s the new Sean Lee. Move on from him. Jaylon looks like a borderline NFL player these days. This LB corps went from being superstar in 2018 to being awful.

Jerry failed the team by settling on McCarthy and Nolan. Uninspiring guys with very little recent success. If this team fails to make the playoffs in the worst division in the NFL again, Jerry may croak.

I’ll stop short of awful, it sure wasn’t very good.

not 1 offsides, but 3 in the first half. Different coach, same dumb players (now 2 of those were on Griffin), but the Cowboys just don’t play with a ton of smarts or accountability. Trend for years on end.

the Cowboys sure didn’t play with a ton of emotion outside of Zeke.

the defense didn’t force a punt until deep into the 3rd qtr. they did get a turnover prior to that!

the offense was just mediocre, maybe worse. Chance to seize momentum with 2nd half kickoff, but poor play calling worse execution.

it’s one game, so not the end of the world. Still feel you can change coaches, but it won’t ultimately change what ails the franchise. An owner more worried about marketing, selling and hyping a SB run, the players talking about that, and woefully falling short year after year. Endless cycle.
