Okay but this same play-calling puts up 40 points against crap defenses like Commanders and Dolphins.

This offense, namely the quarterback, fails to execute these same plays against stout defenses because of their lack of talent at the Qb position. Until the Cowboys can get better talent at quarterback, we can expect this offense to underperform.

And no; nobody expects to get Mahomes, Rodgers, or Brees overnight, but at least the team didn’t sign Rayne long term so there is hope.

Ever think if he put up more points early on he wouldn't be in those situations? Even if we score a touchdown there and win the game. Its still a very poor offensive half. One throw doesn't excuse the lack of execution on offense.

Another question. Why did it take so long to throw deep. Is that scheme, or still dak not taking chances?

Ok let me break it down.

1. The kicker missed a 29 yard field goal. 3 points.
2. The Rams didn't punt the football until the 3rd quarter.
3. Rams did not stop one bootleg or screen pass.
4. They had their way with us in the run game.
5. Robert Woods had his way with us in the 1st quarter alone.
6. They missed the call on Aldon Smith hitting Goff in the head. Potential points there.
7. They bled the clock. DOMINATED TOP. That was their goal. Keep their defense off the field and use their 3 running backs to dominate TOP and they did.
8. They played conservative the rest of the way because they had the lead. Had McCarthy went for the field goal they would've once again ran it down our throats and screened us to death to score even more points.

I guess I'll ask you....what did you see from this defense to think they couldn't put up 30 points?

Just because you make a couple of bad contracts and overpay some of your players doesnt mean you just do it with all of your players, especially the QB.

Dak wants to be the highest paid QB in the league, so the question is should the highest paid QB in the league not lose virtually every close game he plays?

Also, should the highest paid QB in the league be able to bring his team from behind and win? Well Dak's career record when trailing at halftime is 3-16.

So are you following along yet? Basically should you pay a QB that cant bring his team from behind and cant win close games, at least not in recent times, more money than any other QB in the league?

If that throw had counted...he would've had over 300 passing yards and 2 Td's with 30 yards rushing....if he puts those stats up the rest of the year we will have 11 wins at least. The issue with that game was the poor 3rd quarter IMO.

Did you see the routes they were running? How many plays did you see Cooper and Lamb go deep? Based on what I saw it looked as if the Cowboys were afraid Dak wouldn't have time to throw so they did a lot of short routes including the dreaded comeback routes to Cooper that I hate. The gameplan I think was to run the ball and live off YAC....similar to what the Rams did except they played our defense and we played theirs.

We can blame Dak all we want, but Dallas has other issues. In these close games going back to last year, it seems like these defenses have us locked down by the end of the game. I could be wrong, but I'm not getting the impression it's all Dak. Whatever we're doing the defense seems to have us figured out by late in the 4th.

But they have done it with all their players. They have made Jaylon, La'el, Cooper, Zeke and Lawrence the highest paid players at their position lol. Its not like they are picking and choosing. The only ones they chose not to do that with are Byron and Dak and they probably would've franchised Byron if Dak wasn't up for a deal.

It's not the same play calling. That's what is so infuriating. They completely switched after week 3 last season. They are still running way too much on first down and not using enough play action. People presumed it was Garrett but now I have no clue.

The play that has me the most upset (and I haven't gone back and watched anything since the game, so I could easily be missing something) was the sack on the first drive of the 2nd half. Dak has a receiver breaking WIDE open across the middle and doesn't throw it. Yes there was pressure coming in his face but he should have been able to get it out and take the hit. It also could have been picked (there was a safety in the general area). So he decides instead of throwing a pick (which would have put the Rams in the same general area of the punt) he is going to take the sack. Sack = lines fault, pick = my fault. Not saying that is completely his mindset, but his mindset is clearly to not take risks (thank you Garrett). Romo throws that pass, maybe it is complete, maybe it isn't, maybe it is picked...but he tries. Romo took chances and sometimes they worked other times they don't. Dak never takes chances and thus we get this same old cautious bus driving QB.
