With mm not wanting to upgrade at safety and hope Carr is the answer but What baffles me is if they thought Thompson should be the starter over dix. How bad was dix in practice cuz Thompson was a big thumbs down last week.

Dudes are going to be here in November begging for an ET signing, not thinking it the least bit odd that he's still available.

I'm gonna trust them. If he's not signed in the next couple of weeks, I'll assume that the info they had justifiably scared the off. Carr played next to him.

I assume they asked Carr, and if he said *no problem*, I'd would have expected a Thomas announcement tomorrow. Maybe it takes a little longer to get the contract done. But I'll be done worrying about Thomas this month.

I was always on team ET is Not Worth It until the Ravens cut him.

Carr would be the free safety though right? I'd assume Woods would be the strong safety which is Wilson's position. Maybe they see something else at practice but I really hoped with the old coaching staff gone he'd have a legit shot at reps.
They want experience on the field.

Carr probably knows more than many NFL assistant coaches.

No real offseason.
New coaching staff.
New scheme.
Rookie CB.
Multiple new starters from last season.

Carr was starting at S last year. Better than Thompson.

I watched every game Bernard played for Utah including in Stadium at all home games. He isn't the most athletic guy in the world, but plays great fundamental football and makes few mistakes. I really hope he gets called up at some point.

Ravens Safeties in 2019.
Chuck Clark started 12.
ET started 15.
Tony Jefferson started 5.

You're right. In the box scores, Carr is listed in the starting lineup of every game as a CB.

What's all the talk about him playing safety last year?

I reviewed the games. He did play some snaps at Safety.

Carr played snaps at S for us too. Not many.

How many did he play for the Ravens in the last couple of years? The impression I got from the initial talk on Carr was that he played significant snaps at S for the Ravens. Did he?

You're a true NFL GM.

and you are? you realizes some teams with the best preparation cant foresee having your entire LB core and 4 OL go down before the end of the first qtr in game 1..

there not only a cap but also a limit to how many players are active and on the roster..

Ok genius?

OT and LB just had an unusual rash of injuries', lots of teams have to go grab players off other PS or off the street..cant be planned for..

I'm not saying Thompson played well or should be the starter, but he was definitely flying all over the field. He caught some flack for a few missed tackles, namely the one on Brown in the backfield, but no other defender on the defense would have even been there. He also covered major ground in the passing game when asked to stay back. Everyone on the team bit hard on play-action, so I chalk that up to no pre-season games. He also had to cover for a linebacking core that did absolutely nothing. They didn't take on blockers, they didn't splash, they didn't tackle.

I think there is definitely a role for Thompson if he just gets his tackling down. I tell you what though, if the Cowboys had 11 guys on defense flying around like Thompson, no one would want to play this D.
