...my gut say's character issues. From the time of him flipping off his coach being cart ridden off the field, was a sign. Then altercation with some rookie last month, landed him off the team. Who knows what else the cat brings?

There has to be more to it than what's being said because make no mistake about it he balled out last year in BMore. My guy who covers sports in the area was asking me if I was sure ET could handle being in the spotlight in Dallas? I was like he's from Texas bro what you mean he was like just put it this way NFL players don't miss team meetings to get their car wash knowing how much money it was going to cost when the team fines them. He was like he's missed multiple meetings and acts like it's nothing. I don't know what it could be but there's no way a fella of his caliber is just out there and people are like nah we good with our safeties we have in a passing league. This is truly bizarre

The guys on the Ticket radio station here in Dallas have several times referred to problems he’s had with his wife threatening to kill him and his brother because of some weird love triangle. The police in Austin (where Thomas has lived in offseason) had been called on her and ET where gun play was involved.

Mental problems (he may or may not have) also have been mentioned. His behavior has been described as very erratic by teammates in Balt. I thought of CTE issues possible, but that’s just speculation. But the guys on the Ticket have said the whispers they hear from many are that he’s “not right”.

I hate to speculate but this situation does sound like how a lot of CTE cases have gone. Its like out of nowhere you see a guy change into someone else. Earl has been relatively quiet most of his career. Now maybe his problems were kept under wraps but I've never heard anyone speak bad about him until he got to Baltimore. Seems like his issues started when he didn't get the contract he wanted.

There is something to the situation we don't know but all teams do. I've heard it referenced several times but no one seems to have the details or is willing to share them. It could be details about one of the incidents, a whole new incident, or the fact teams know he will be facing punishment if he signs a deal. We will eventually find out what is going on.

My guess is exactly what you say here. Teams would be willing to take a chance, but there is most likely a lengthy suspension in store for Thomas if he were to sign. An investigation and pending suspension is not worth the investment.

You can look into Earl Thomas and mental health. You will then find that Pete Carroll helped Thomas get connected to a counselor to help him with his ADHD. I'm wondering if there aren't other issues related to mental health? Maybe he was diagnosed and has gotten help dealing with them in the past but is not doing so now? But it's something to consider.

Twice now, I've heard local radio guys discussing Earl Thomas, and each said they'd be willing to talk to him and take a chance on signing him to help the defense.

However, both times they said they were also very weary of doing it because they know some things about the situation that they aren't able or willing to share about the back story going on with Thomas.

Does anyone know what that is about?

I'd like to take the chance on him, but not if it's really ugly stuff beyond what we currently know.
There maybe potential charges pressed for something or investigations. If he comes here and there is any legal off field trouble then you know as well as I do that goodell will take him from us and laugh about it.

If cowboys are serious about winning they sign him. Look at how Seattle was transformed with Adams.

Imagine how unstoppable we’d be with Antonio brown in slot, Earl Thomas in the backfield, DeAndre Baker in our secondary, and if colts are willing to release the rights for it... Andrew Luck as our backup QB

Eatman stated today the Cowboys don't believe he's healthy. When asked if this is in reference to physical or mental health, he would not answer. So it was pretty obvious what the inference is here...

I find it difficult to believe a person involved with the media having a scoop/smoking gun story and won't release it. The dez walmart video comes to mind. Still waiting.

If there was a police call for DV where Thomas threatened to kill an officer, a family member or himself it would end up with a situation just like what we see now. Rolling the dice on a booze hound is one thing, rolling the dice on an OJ Simpson situation is completely different.

Thomas said Garrett sucks and he was blackballed.....

One would have to think he's always blackballed **cue snare and cymbal hits**. Thanks folks, I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your cocktail waitress.

I think we all pray there are no parallels but when Junior Seau committed suicide it came out that he had been having a lot of serious problems for a long time, but none of it was ever publicly reported.

The way you describe it, it seems like he may be under investigation, either by the league or the law. That would explain why they're unable or unwilling to talk about it.

If anybody says something about what's really going on with ET they'll probably lose their job and then some because this reckless media culture doesn't care...they just want to be first on a story. That HIPPA scenario fits.

That would prevent teams from talking about his issues. But the media is free to do as it pleases without a court order.
