Hell we went 13-3 that one season and got clobbered by the Kapernick led 49ers the first game at home. We could roll off 15 in a row for all we know.

That team was better than this one, starting with the offensive line.

And if we win Sunday, there will be 100 people predicting just that, lol.

They are still a contender, the problem is that the Rams are too and people forgot that.

The level of frustration we’ve seen among our fellow Zone fans after the rams loss surprised me a little. But then when I thought about it some more, I realized after Coach Vanilla was let go and Big Mac brought in, along with a good draft, the assumptions for an automatic turnaround were huge. Throw in 25 years of frustration, and it’s a little more understandable.

But with very little time and opportunity to implement new schemes and learn new coaching styles, this team was in a learning deficit. NFL Turnarounds are almost never instantaneous.

Plus, after just one game, I still don’t think we know what this team is going to be yet. It takes time to cleanse a team culture and implement new ways of doing things.

I’m waiting until at least October before declaring this team anything.

True. A win Sunday avoids the dumpster fire for now. And as you say doesn’t guarantee anything either.

As always winning cures many ills.

But if this begins to spiral then there will be some soul searching on what we’ve done. Or not done.

The thing is, they said it wasn't going to be new schemes. Moore was kept and McCarthy said more than once that he was the one learning a new offense. It still looks like the stuck in the 90s in the passing game and given MM's comments about motion I don't expect that to change.

Toss in the o-line issues, the soft middle defense (still) and question marks in the secondary and I'll be shocked if this team takes off and does something this season. I'm not expecting much more than what we got last year, for a lot of the same reasons.

i expect a team that wins somewhere between 6 and 9 games sunday night looked like what we have seen for at least the last ten years

I think the issue is that on paper this was a winnable game and the way Dallas lost was very familiar to long suffering fans. Slow start, bad tackling, questionable play calling, “stars” playing terribly...
These have been staples of this underperforming franchise for 25 years. It’s frustrating. I think it’s too early to panic and I believe McCarthy is a quality coach.

We’ve had other quality coaching here which have sunk with Captain Jethro of the Titanic. Lol

Here is what I know every time a cowboys player does anything either the fanbase or local media makes him a star. This current group of players even does this. here is an idea....win a bunch of games and let a rookie learn how to play in the league for at least a season before calling them a star...This mentality just makes me roll my eyes, it makes sense coming from smith who is perfectly content with losing but still veteran players should probably back off when it comes to rookies.

imo, the front office has done an excellent job of putting players on the team. but without good coaching it is all for naught. i expected to see more from the first game of the new mac era. i was highly disappointed. a little bird has told me a certain influential member of the front office was highly upset about the lack of motion plays and not challenging the defense and he has spoken to certain individuals of his desire to see more of them. we'll see sunday against the falcons.
