What a leader
What a leader
talk is cheap. i don't consider it leadership to take the rap for a loss. leadership is going out on the field and winning the game. there are no leaders among the losers. just speechmakers.
Yes..2016-2018 Aaron Rodgers was 20-18-1. 2014-2016 Drew Brees was 21-26, and 2006-2008 he was 25-24.
As for playoffs, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees didn't win their first playoff game until their 6th NFL season.
I'm guessing in all those circumstances winning and losing isn't only about the QB though, right?
Yes..
nice numbers to selectively make a point...
but help me out..
Rodgers is still the QB becuz he has already won a SB before you focus on his record after that and say "see".
Same with Brees..when did he win his SB? I forgot the year..it was the year of Hurricane Katrina I believe.is still in a
So these guys have had lesser records but it was after they had already won it all.
Dak on the other hand is still yet to win anything more than the Eastern Conference although it was twice.
And in each of those years..Philly was 2-3 games ahead of us and had to completely implode for us to catch them.
So Dak had alot of help getting those conference titles..it wasn't just him clearing the field with his play at QB.
Like last year with Garrett receiving his ultimatum from the FO to either make it to the Conference Game or turn in your keys to your office..
Dak needs a similar ultimatum.
Win or move aside.
Take a paycut until you prove you can win more than a Participants Trophy.
We played this game with Romo for 10 years. We made everything Romo Friendly. It was a bust.
We have now doubled down and made it Dak Friendly and being asked to spend $100s of millions more for Dak to stay..
plus the $100s of millions on other players to support Dak.
At some point Dak has to pay off.
I can't see when that point is.
Can anybody?
Although none of us knew it at the time..If the Cowboys don't get their OL in tact, they won't be winning anything. I am disappointed that they lost Sunday but it is only one game, and the first game of the season. I vaguely remember them being 3-5 to start the season and still making the playoffs. I'm not giving up yet. I am just glad they are playing football. I thought the season was getting canceled.
No..I think you missed the point. The point is that any QB can go through a stretch where the team doesn't win much, but that doesn't condemn them. I selectively chose a 3 year period for Rodgers because the guy I responded to also selectively chose a 3 year period to argue the other way.
I noticed you conveniently focused on Rodgers because his 3 year period came after winning the Super Bowl, but you ingnored that one of Brees 3 year periods came before winning a Super Bowl, and you also ignored the comments about playoff winbone of contention here in the Forum for months now.s. Accordingly, isn't it a bit disingenuous to talk about me being selective?
I didn't imply anything, and what I said was that a selective sample size is not a true, definitive way to judge. What is invalid about that?No..
I understand your points and some I agree with what you are implying. We are going to have to wait and see.
And no,.I did not get into a lengthy reply going down your list of QB examples. Your point about Manning is very valid. Brees also.
But finding a small handful of exceptions to make your point does not mean everything you are implying is correct.
Its not a situation were numbers clarify the points. And the jury is still out on whether or not Dak will be ranked along with those guys.
My point is that those guys are still around and winning and the reason why is that have already won it all.
Their teams can afford to pay them huge contracts becuz they have proven to be winners at the highest levels.
Dak is asking to be paid BEFORE he reaches that point of unified consensus he has earned it.
Thats my concern.
All of it. Every QB has their favorite plays and comfort zone. Even Brady.
No, but Cowboys fans always do!I didn't imply anything, and what I said was that a selective sample size is not a true, definitive way to judge. What is invalid about that?
Of course the jury is still out on Dak. I didn't indicate, or even imply, otherwise. Again, I just showed that a definitive judgement based on the standards of the poster I quoted is not fair because those standards have been proven by history not to be concrete standards to judge by. That was the point of the examples I gave - to show that those standards don't condemn a player.
BS! Listen carefully.....EVERY PLAYER HAS THIER FAVORITE PLAYS......it's up to the OC to call the plays and understand his players abilities in order to do so. Not only QBs, but all players. It even works on defense. What a novel idea, call the game to your players strength! Wow!!!! Genius! Lol!!!The problem with that, letting The Dak have favorite plays is that it becomes a trend that other team pick up on. The Dak has to learn multiple plays and not babysat with just the ones he likes.
I understand that QBs have their favorite plays, of course they do. But I question if the play calling is limited by Dak's limitations. Brady can handle any play they give him, but I'm not sure Dak has that ability. Also, we've all seen Dak throw on the run,and he's pretty good at it, so you'd think that would be among his favorite things to do, yet it must not be, since it doesn't happen very often.BS! He's not gonna run and risk injury without a long-term contract. Simple as that.I understand that QBs have their favorite plays, of course they do.
