Whoever decided to call 50 screen passes to Zeke today

Should turn in their headset. That was embarrassing. Especially forcing it on the last drive of the game. They must have attempted at least a dozen screens to Zeke and nearly all of them failed.

The offensive strategy just leaves so much to be desired. Seattle was helpless against the vertical passing attack but McCarthy and/or Moore were just dead set on trying to go sideline-to-sideline against this speedy defense with stupid screens and reverses, none of which were even remotely successful.

This one today was ripped right from the Garrett playbook. It was a great example of blindly trying to force your will upon the opponent, rather than strategizing around what the defense is showing youZ

I think on that last drive that was Dak. Zeke was an outlet and Dak played it safe. Needed 3 end zone shots there not 1 desperate one.

I can't speak for the OP, but they threw a lot of them to him during the game. A few more to WRs as well. If nothing else the Seahawks defend the outside of the field very well. The problem I had with many of the screen passes were that they chose to run them on 2nd and short. Defenses are watching for something short.

So many screens we threw to Zeke with a LB literally on his hip. It was just stupidity.

I think part of that is that screens are the "textbook" way to play around a bad OL, and our OL sure as hell was bad today. Same thing with the last drive... KM didn't trust that line to hold up for a 7 step drop.

One thing I know for sure is a lot of you have no idea what a screen pass and swing pass are. They ran too many screens, but many of those throws were swing passes.

The analytics department says if you throw 10 screens your odds of winning increase .001%
If the rb catches any of them your odds decrease 5%....weird stat but you can't argue with the math

I would throw 50 screen passes to Zeke; however, they were poorly executed and Dak has always struggled with screen passes imo.
If we had our offensive tackles I think it would’ve been much different, but oh well.

They were all over the screens. There must be a tip or tendency causing the opposing defense to seemingly always be waiting on the screen...

The Seahawks were blitzing a lot. So when a well coached team blitzes a lot, they tend to watch out for the screens. Quick hitting swing passes normally works well against blitzes but they were keying those also.

Every team runs this play for like 9 yards minimum and we get three at best.
