I’d say he played better than the other safeties.

Looked like we had a chance for another Falcons game, though. It would have been great to be .500 on the strength of two late game onside kicks.

Dak had 502 yds passing, 4 TD passes and team is still 1-3 because
Offense scored 0 pts in 2nd qtr
Offense scored 0 pts in 3rd qtr
Offense spent the whole 4th qtr climbing out of a 38-14 hole when he threw for most of the 500 yds. That's the real story

That part of it. If the defense gave up no points in those quarters, what we would be talking about? Teams work as a unit dude. It's hard to just out it all on one.

Or if our defense actually got to the other qb, force a turnover some time and didn't give up critical score after critical score, things would be completely different. We literally got within 3 with a ton of time on the clock, but Mike gets cute with some pseudo onside, and the defense gives up an easy td and then literally gifts the browns a two point conversion.

Expecting the offense to be absolutely perfect while the defense does nothing at all is not realistic

Since '96 its been the norm around here to have to worry about having to win games with a bad defense and a less than stellar offensive line. To whine about that when other NFL teams deal with those all the time and manage to scrape together a win just doesn't help either.

What people don't get around here is you don't always get those miracle comebacks. They are giving credit that we almost came back, and forgetting what and who helped put us behind in the first place. It certainly wasn't one person who got us in this situation, but some people are willing to give one person credit for *almost* getting us out of the situation forgetting he was partly responsible as well.

However at least carrot had a plan and understood how this squad works. We were built to be a RUN FIRST team.. two things.. we run the ball to wear down a defence.. we run the ball to burn clock.. we run the ball to help the defence.......
