Romo is long gone.
Let the man live his life at this point.

In parting.....
Just for the record, in the 8 seasons that he started the majority of the games, (games he started)

9-7 (6-4)
13-3 (13-3)
9-7 (8-5)
11-5 (11-5)
8-8 (8-8)
8-8 (8-8)
8-8 (8-7)
12-4 (12-3)

The low was 8-8...the high was 13-3....the average was about 10-6

Whether it was a confused Cooper, or Dak throwing into coverage......I'd like to see Dalton play. I don't care what numbers Dak has.......W's matter.

Can they also actually play 4 quarters of football instead of only the 4th?

The Cleveland running game looked impressive. Dallas defense concerns isn't only the secondary after that performance.

This team is messier than a soup sandwhich.
so you think Dalton will do better with a defense that gave up 49 pts. 38 pts. 40 pts the last three games!? seriously...... how do you spin this into a Dak thing...

the offense is woefully predictable. it takes great execution by the players to make it work. that OL is a total mess. the williams experiment is a gigantic failure. who is the guy at RT? an UDFA?!!!! Kellen moore experiment is an absolute failure...another coach rushed to the top without proper training or experience.....

and the offense has to take great chances, play metal to the pedal, all game because they know this defense will give up points....and we have to win in basketball game fashion....we are forced to score every possession....is any other team's offense under that type of pressure? the defense is in bottom category in every defensive statistical category....

If the desired outcome is wins, you stick with Prescott.

If the desired outcome is getting the best draft choice you possibly can, go with Dalton.

Neither one of them will win a whole lot if the defense continues to be historically bad, but Dak is the better QB (even if you compare primes) and is the better option to get the W.

Even as bad as the East is, they won't go anywhere in the playoffs against teams with momentum. I'd take the higher draft slot, and save the cash, and start playing Dalton to get a jump on next year. See what the draft brings.

What good is a few wins here and there going to do for them?

Where did that take the Cowboys? No SB winning team ever won with a mediocre D, but plenty with great defenses won with journeyman QB's.

Andy isn't going to save this team. There's a $31 million elephant sitting in the room eating up a ton of salary cap ... I can imagine how many players we can get with that money. Along with Zeke and DLaw ... we can buy a new D.

Gotta have a D, I agree.

I'd take less wins and just consider not playing Dak and let him walk. Dalton would get first team snaps, for the remainder of the season. It doesn't matter who the QB is for this season. The cost of Dalton is a much better bargain, and they could start wholesale changes on the D to see who should stay including Nolan.

Why wait until the offseason?

Nah Dak's not the problem!
Just sign Dak to a mega-deal and rebuild the team thru the draft!
Now did you wanna buy that flying Pig in the window???

How long in years do you think that will take? Without any free agents?

I think finding a franchise QB is step 1. Dak is good and young, you have to try to keep him.
A better idea is to see how quickly you can get out of your contacts with J. Smith, DLaw, and Zeke.

Will the team get better with Dak pulling $40 mil next year ?? How competitive are we going to be with one person eating up so much of the salary cap ???

Dak can't tackle, block, and cover at the same time.

LOL. Dak hater. What bout Zeke? You don't want him benched for Pollard?

I would rather build the team than allocate $40 mil to one player.

Dak has to throw for 500 yards and over 5 td's a game for us to just have a chance to win. Now he knows how Romo felt. I been saying it for over 12 years now. No defense. NO hope! Screw building a powerful offense when your defense is a bunch of weaklings.

Romo lost for the same reason — defense can’t stop anyone and the QB has to do push the offense to its limits.

the problem is the defense...again.

Time to take some risks if I'm Jerry. You can't sell this pile of crap to the fans anymore.

Yes. Where will the defense come from?
