He may not even be a better QB than Dak, but give him reps, and don't overspend next year on Dak. How is giving Dak what he thinks he's worth helping on defense?

And what pro bowlers on D are lining up to play with Dak's salary?

Time to take some risks if I'm Jerry. You can't sell this pile of crap to the fans anymore.

Absolutely, but I put my money where my mouth is. I sold my PSL's last year. Didn't plan on attending any games even pre-Covid. TV will do.

I thought their drafting has improved quite a bit in the last few years (Not taking Taco and a few others players into account) They gotten much better, but overall. the GM needs to go before any real success happens.

Even as bad as the East is, they won't go anywhere in the playoffs against teams with momentum. I'd take the higher draft slot, and save the cash, and start playing Dalton to get a jump on next year. See what the draft brings.

What good is a few wins here and there going to do for them?
OK, I'm fine with that. But what do you do in the draft? Draft a QB, or go after Defense?

If you go QB, even if they end up being great, what are the odds of our defense improves enough to be able to win anything meaningful before we have to pay that QB?

If you go D, who is playing the most important position in football?

I think it would be MUCH easier to get defensive players from the draft and/or other teams, then get a QB worth a darn from the draft and/or other teams.

But to do BOTH? Man, you have a lot more faith in our front office than I do.

They have the remainder of this season to try and find out which direction to set priorities. We're not one safety away like most thought before the season.

Again......I don't have personal disdain for Dak. Can people not understand he's not worth his asking price?

I'll ask you the same question I asked earlier.......how is paying Dak going to help the with defense?

Neither are you at your job.

Whether it was a confused Cooper, or Dak throwing into coverage......I'd like to see Dalton play. I don't care what numbers Dak has.......W's matter.

Can they also actually play 4 quarters of football instead of only the 4th?

The Cleveland running game looked impressive. Dallas defense concerns isn't only the secondary after that performance.

This team is messier than a soup sandwhich.

I'd start with defense.....Dalton would have the snaps from starting the remaining games. Hitting a QB in the draft even in the first picks is a lottery win. Defense backs are usually a safer choice. The key would be having Dak's money to have additional options.

I'd take less wins and just consider not playing Dak and let him walk. Dalton would get first team snaps, for the remainder of the season. It doesn't matter who the QB is for this season. The cost of Dalton is a much better bargain, and they could start wholesale changes on the D to see who should stay including Nolan.

Why wait until the offseason?
but why. what you just described doesn't make sense. Dak's contract for the season is gauranteed. its a one year deal. if you want, you can just not resign him next year. so you didn't explain what playing dalton who has no future in dallas will get us.

sounds like you want the team to tank, and thus playing dalton gives us a better chance of ending up with a worse record....right?

Who said Dalton couldn't be signed on the cheap like this year? I don't a reason to let him go. I'm also not talking about this year, for Dak. That money is wasted either way.

I'd let Dalton play to get to learn the offense. I'd try to keep him and see what options there would be. Nothing is helping this team this year. That defense can't stop a SB team, and I don't care how good the offense is, that won't change.

That's what Marino and Fouts dealt with. Same thing last year, and now this year. It doesn't matter how great the QB is when there's no defense.

Brady, Aikman, etc....were all great QB's, but they got the SB with great defenses.

For the record, I would have pulled his tender, and not even paid this year.

Can people seriously be THIS stupid?

You admit Dallas's defensive concerns all over the field but call for Dak to be benched and Dalton to be put in? How can people be so dumb? serious question....
