its not...normally you score 38 that's enough. you score 31 that should be enough...but hey, when the defense gives up 38 and 49...doesn't sound like its enough....

I would ask for what happen during the entire game. Giving me a snapshot in time does nothing to actually convey what happened. This is what people who defend the offense don't get. You can rail about the defense and demand that Nolan be fired or killed or whatever else you want done to him, but your "I told you we are within 3 points in the 4th" does not tell me about the pathetic offensive play we had in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. The need to once again dig out of a hole we dug for ourselves and continue to put a bad defense in bad spots. Like another poster said - it's 4 quarters and if it is 4 quarters how do you ignore the total lack of any offense through 2 of the 4 quarters by Dallas?

No offense in NFL history has looked great consistently for 4 quarters of games. Even the greatest offenses go for a couple possessions and sometimes even multiple quarters without scoring. It happens. Trying to go "well they scored here but not here" is silly because the defense did not defend EVER. It does not matter to me HOW the offense got the points they did, what matters is that a team that scores that many points has NO business losing an NFL football game.

I fully agree. its not a winnign strategy. normally you score 14 by halftime, sometimes you lead or you are close. its not unusual not to score in a quarter....by halftime we are down 31-14. that's a big hole to overcome and needs a big come back.....

and the offense didn't mail it in...the offense knew, they need to be perfect, pressure is on them because there was no way they would have a chance to win unless they were perfect....

lets remember again...31 points by half time..over 300+ yards...by HALFTIME....that's a full game....

brady threw a pick 6 today......yet they won...why? because their defense gave up 31.....I will take that anyday of the week if this defense could consistently hold teams to 31 (as pathetic as that may sound)

31 points that they contributed to, this was very much a team effort to get into that hole.

but these dak detractors will always go to that. no QB is perfect. no offense is perfect. no offense scores on every drive. inevitably he has a bad throw, a turn over, a bad series, a bad quarter or a bad half or a bad game...and the haters are all over it......it gives them fodder to complain about.

Sure, 14 of the 41 points came off offensive turnovers. Just like it did the week before at Seattle and just like the week before, the defense sucked it up while the offense laid back and did nothing until it was too late

yes, its Dak's fault...if Dak was perfect and would lead the offense to score everytime they have the ball, then the browns would be forced to pass a lot more and would rush for that much.

Scoring no points in a quarter or 3 points in a quarter is VERY common for even all-time great level offenses. Asking for more is asking them to be greater than the greatest offenses in NFL history which the Cowboys is good but to say its the greatest to ever play the game by a significant margin and to expect that is a stretch.

They scored enough to win the game but if you need 40 to win you are going to be a 3-13 team at best.

Might I remind you this isn't just today - this offense has coughed up the ball 3 weeks in a row, that is the sign of a bad team. Good teams may turn the ball over at times but it isn't a trend.

no. absolutley not. I don't expect them to be perfect. I want them to give up 31-35 points a game.... is that too much to ask? that would still make them one of the worst in the league...but 49!!! and 38!!! and 40!!!

through the first 3 games we were middle of the pack or better on offensive turnovers.....

You also saw the offense put up 14 points thru 3 quarters while the Browns put up 41 and while i agree with you that our D sucks we won't beat anybody if our offense also dissappears for a good part of the game every week only magically managing to re-appear in the 4th quarter when the game is completly out of hand and basically out of reach. The Browns D is nothing special either ou,r offense should be just as ashamed as our D today
