I dont know but it seemed he was offered a good deal and wanted a 4 year deal so he could get another one sooner when the new tv deal is signed. that is a risk he chose to take.

my question is how do you pay him on the franchise tag again next year when he more than likely will not be healthy for most of the offseason and maybe not ready for camp and preseason?

LOL ....so true

Let's be honest, Dalton would probably have to reach the NFCCG min for Jerry to consider giving him the team and you're right if he makes guess how much he wants.
Yeah I agree. But we say this and we have a example of what Wentz and Foles and Foles won a ring and they still chose Wentz.

There are so many ways this can go:
- Dak fully recovers rather quickly and the offense completely collapses without him. Big money.
- Dak's injury is career ending
- Dak's injury is severe but not career ending. The team does fine with Dalton. Not big money.

Let's not forget all the cap ramifications from no fans in the stadiums.

Someone predicting the future on this right now is blindly guessing.

Dak bet on himself he turned down a four year deal worth an estimted 120+ million most of which was garanteed, Dak bet he would not have a serious injury and play well. How many millions did he just loose ? And if Andy Dalton plays well could this be the end of Prescott in Dallas ?
Doesn't Dak have a $30 million a year insurance policy?
Hmmm.

I dunno.

Hard to say.

A lot of it will depend on what sort of damage is done to the ankle...

I just know fractured my wrist last year... I mean REALLY fractured my wrist last year and I'm astounded on how well the medical profession dealt with it.

And considering the quality of care he's going to get... Who knows how it's going to work out.

Interesting perspective and glad to hear your wrist healed

That said, realistically there probably isn't much applicability. Even if your wrist fracture was quite serious, and feels good now, it's tough to compare that to the amount of force and torsion on the ankle of an NFL qb who uses his legs a lot.

He could have wonderful surgeons and still never be the same. That was pretty gruesome. Just being honest

I’m sure he’s got a insurance policy just for this.
He does, I think for around 40 million, plus the 31 for this year is guaranteed.

He may wind up losing money, but this isnt the time to talk about that.

I hope he heals up good, he will have the best surgeon and doctors.
They said the bone broke the skin , which makes infections possible.

I just hope he heals up good enough to be able to continue his career.
they also said wentz injury was similar to daks, so dak should be ok, but u never know.

One, anyone with a clue knows Lloyd's of London sells insurance for this sort of thing and players know to buy it. Two, Jerry loves Dak.

7 months ago he lost 105M when he decided not to cash the Cowboys check he was offered. There's currently no more money to lose.

His price needs to go down.

Dalton is about to show you how we can get similar results and not pay 40 million dollars for it.

I like Dak.. Great dude.. Great leader... But he overplayed his hand and Dalton is about to show that there is another way.

The funny thing is.. Daltons not even that good and he will still be Dak like.
