If Tannehill can do it, why not Dalton

People are making too much of an issue of Dalton playing. The offense will be fine. Dalton can functionally run an offense. The problem is the defense. There are maybe 3 QBs walking this earth good enough to overcome this horrid defense.

LLLOOLLL, agree

Yep....Wilson being one, I guess....given our D is currently rated higher than his.
Yet Seattle is 5-0

Not having 10 turnovers will do that for you

This is gonna be fun when Dak signs a deal or a franchise tag in 9 months and all of you mess your pants

The board is just discussing a scenario. I for one would like to see Dak return and I don't think Dalton will take his job but this is just a what if. Fun to discuss.

This is why a team gets a backup like Dalton - because he does provide a chance to step in without a huge drop off. Dalton may not be quite Dak's level, but if the offense can clean up the early turnovers I don't think he has to be for the offense to be highly successful.

If he can get the offense off to quicker starts then he might be an upgrade over Dak.

Getting behind early and turning the ball over has been a problem. We can't constantly play catch up.

If we could play with a lead we might be able to dictate these games with Zeke and help this defense.

Helps that Seattle hasn't played a team with a winning record. Yup, they beat the Falcons, Dolphins, Cowboys, Vikings and Patriots. Despite putting up huge offensive numbers, playing crap teams and being undefeated, every game has been a 1 score game. If that defense doesn't improve they are going to lose a lot of games the rest of the way.

Saint Wilson is CoOkInG and is already crowned the MVP despite literally being pushed down the field and given a mulligan for 2 point conversions by the refs against us.

The big change is that going forward, for the most part, the pass defenses are now going to be mostly good (vs facing the some of the league's worst in the first 5 weeks) but the run defenses will worse.....making it smart to exploit the run game more.
Not really. The Rams have the best pass defense in the league right now, and the only good secondary they play the rest of the way is Pitt.

There are effectively no good passing defenses in the NFL.

The Rams have a good overall balance in that division

yes LOL finally a person to stop raging responses to a Hypothetical scenario

we have 11 games to find out of its even a debate,,thats the fun part Dalton has 11 real games to show if hes an option should the dak contract hit snag again..i doubt Dak plays under another tag he will hold out so a Non exclusive tag will be inlay and offers will be coming in so why not spit ball what ifs

Rams for sure were the exception. They are solid all around.
The Giants aren't putrid, btw.

Otherwise, Dallas faced, literally, the 3 worst rated pass defenses in the league so far.

Tenn has committed and dedicated players. Dallas has a bunch of sick, lame, and lazy ones.

they were what 1-7 he actually had some big games passing games in the regular season and as qb lead them into the playoffs regardless of what happened in the playoffs. The titans paid him anyway, you telling me you know more then them on his worth? they didnt go after another QB, they know what they had in him and signed him..

this isn't Jerry this is the titans owner and GM made this decsion.

so ripping Tannehill to what hurt the merit of my thread? the fact is AFCCG and now 4-0 with tannehill regardless of his role..its still him playing QB vs mariotta ..

So this is Dalton taking over For dak in similar manner..we have 11 games to see if it even becomes a decision, thats the greatness of the situation..we will have the answers before decsions needs to be made.

its hypothetical and the veracity of you trying to downplay tannehills role is entertaining at best Given the titans already made their decision and iotas worked out pretty well..

this is about Dalton vs Dak should Dalton play so well and contract negotiation not favorable with dak ...

so calm down tannehill laughing at you and us sitting on team that made it to the AFCCG and now 4-0 this season with him at QB..got it? hes making what 30mil per, yup laughing at a fan trying to downplay his role given he came in with team that was 1-7 and look at them since..

you take the 12mil savings and put it on defense , FA etc use the draft picks(s) you get from lettig Dak walk in trade and use them for higher draft pick on defense...

just spit balling..
I feel like you're comparing Dak to Mariota...Mariota got replaced because he sucks, it had nothing to do with Tannehill.

$12m doesn't make your defense better.

No, they haven't. Falcons (31), Seattle (24), NYG (22), Cle (12), LAR (1).

Total yards isn't a measure of how good a defense is.

Washington being 20 on run D is surprising, considering that they invested so heavily in the dline

thats a part of it we are getting compensation in higher draft picks for dak..12mil per year AAV , its something.

no we are not comparing dak to Mariotta we are making a hypothetical scenario should dalton who he can efficiently run this offense over the next 11 games and not big drop off AND IF contract negotiations dont go well with Dak, Dalton could end up starting and we wont see huge difference for a lot les money.

I said to leave the defense out of it and you guys cant follow instructions does it matter Dak coming back would be in the same position as Dalton, we are talking how he can lead the offense, period.. how big a drop would it truly be from dak to Dalton should the decision come down to that?

this is hypothetical hanging on how Dalton closes out this year..

do any of you read before you reply? i said IF IF IF Dalton closes out this season strong..

why would you leave the defense out of it when talking about team success?

that makes no sense.

That’s what I’m saying. Your post mentions making a run and improving the record. The defense plays a big part in it.

I also spent a lot of my other post discussing the Dalton scenarios as well.

With this defense...Wilson, Mahomes and maybe Rodgers...you essentially need your QB to be dynamic AND near perfect. As the defense improves, the margin for error on offense increases. Right now, there is literally no margin...

already corrected before you posted. Doesnt matter tannehill obviously helped aide them IN their run to get to the playoffs regardless of henry and the defense. He did his part where Mariota could not..
we have Zeke and Pollard and 3 WRs that all can make big plays and can design an gameplan fit Dalton

no he didn't he completed like 15 passes over two games lol.
