This year’s team is not good...period. They are not going anywhere.
However, there will be no fire sale. You keep the players who can help you win. You gradually replace the guys who need upgrading.

lots of debatables. I would definitely be willing to consider almost any opportunity to gain resources. A trade gets players attention that they aren't safe. They shouldn't have the mentality they are safe but it appears a lot of our guys do.

Fire sale? We hold onto "our guys" until the juice is gone. This hasn't been a wheeling and dealing franchise since Jerry stopped paying attention to football......sometime in the mid-2000's.

Best trade bait right now

ASmith - Gone after this year. We're not going to spend to keep him. Cash in this year. Maybe someone will be willing to franchise a stud DE, so that their trade is worthwhile.
Gallup - Gone after next year. We aren't going to spend to keep him. Our 1 and 2 are Cooper and CD already. Cedrick Wilson is looking good enough for our 3rd. Gallup has peaked. Sell high.
Gallup needs to stay and Cooper with his massive contract needs to go.

You really cant have a fire sale 6 weeks into a season with pretty much everything new.......

only person that can be considered for firing is Nolan

They'd be lucky to get one first round pick for Zeke let alone a couple. They could get similar production from some of the veteran RB's out there though. They do need to consider getting rid of some of the high priced guys who aren't performing.

If only we could look into the future! LOL
Ok This is my thought process.

I have to ask myself is this team good enough to go to the SB and Win it?
MY answer is NO
There is so many good things that has happened and the future looks bright.
Diggs He is a keeper
Cee DEEE Is the future.
Our OL young guys are getting some playing time and experience. They really havent looked that bad considering that this year we are running a line that is without FreeBeard, Collins and Smith
Those are some big shoes to fill and we have played some descent Defense The true test is going to be here on out because Andy isnt Dak and opposing teams dont have to worry that he is going to take off and run.
Im not saying that we should Tank because we are still in this thing and thats funny as heck lol
After losing Dak we are about to find out just how good Dak is for this team.

Defense Oh My is just so horrible it is really hard for me to watch without getting pissed off. Im just not sure even when we get LVE LEE and Chido back that we will be any better. The DL that we thought would be a strength for us has been MIA I just dont have any faith in Nolan. Hate the hire just hate it and there are a few DC out there that can come in here and do a better job IMO. Not this year though.
Im trying to give Nolan the benefit of the doubt because really its been an off season with not much time to implement his system So Im trying to be rational
My question is should we try to trade for any one at this time or try to wait it out and build the DL, Secondary through the draft?
I really dont want to give up any of my top 3 picks unless its someone young that can come in and not cost us big $$$
We have some good draft picks and if Dallas loses five or more games I would look to trade players for more draft picks if they are not in my future plans.
No WAY am I giving up Gallup unless he nets me a 1st to a losing team and I would still be weary. I would like to see what this Offense can do when healthy and having a true off season and training camp.
Gallup and Cee Dee are our future 1 and 2 with Cooper being the odd man out.
Now if for some miracle Dallas goes on a 9 game win streak then thats different but by that time the trade dead line will have passed.
Guys that I would consider trading and this would hurt is Noah and Cedrick Wilson If I could get a 4th for Wilson I would do it.

I dont want to sound like the season is over cause there is still some football left. I just dont like what I am seeing with this defense that gives me any hope. For goodness sake Heath had an INT yesterday and I missed him thats so sad!
Unless Daks injury could be career ending we are going to have some money tied up with him Dak has shown me that he is the franchise QB and he has done nothing but work his butt off to improve his game. I am a Dak believer!

If I could get a couple of 1's for Zeke Now I would do that in a heart beat. I would even consider trading Tank if I see that he is not going to adjust and improve in this defense. If they decide to stick with Nolan.

Personally I would love to see Nolan being fired by years end and bring someone like Mike Zimmer in if he is fired. Leslie Frazier, Jim Schwartz. Not to sound rude but Floaty could come in and do a better job with this defense. lol
It is not.

The reason it is not too early is that this D as is will never be good enough for a deep playoff run. And that trading deadline is looming.

Basically, take Ceedee, Diggs, Gallup, and Martin, and make it known that anyone else is available. That's how we could be in contention in 3 years. Keep going like this, and we will not get in contention.

Let's see how Dalton performs over the next 3-4 games before having a fire sale. If he goes winless, sure, fire-sale all the way. If he turns in a strong performance, the season's still good to go. Remember, this NFC East is the weakest we've seen in a long, long time.
If your goal is only to win a weak division and go no further, this makes sense.

I prefer super bowls.

NO dont think so, thats tank talk and not interested at this point

weak division, extra WC playoff spot, players coming back on D ..if the trade deadline were further out maybe but we only have what 2-3 games before 10-29 TD.. Id like to see what this team looks like once all the players are back and we maybe start getting on roll.

if that did happen we would have to dump 3 players off the offense..you willing to give up Gallup., CEEDEE, and Martin? for what? better be all firsts multiple firsts

none of the high priced players can be traded without getting into cap hell..most teams wouldn't touch those deals. They are off the table IMHO/.. so again Gallup, CEEDEE, and martin would be a fire sale where dalton is then benched and Nooch starts the rest of the way ie full tank mode..
pfft!!

as fan if you wins for that i have to question your fanhood and your manhood, no one want to lose on purpose..loser talk is getting old around here.. negativity oozes off this place....

and yet the only way to get to a SB is by 1st making the playoffs. I doubt anyone after 5 games is ready to throw in the towel except for a few around here who were throwing in the towel before the season started. lol Because your projection of how the remainder of the season will go does not mean everyone is going to share that view.

pretty sure Gallup is the only player we can trade that won't be here next year that a contender would want.
