New England proving its players over coaching

New England came into this season with 6 or 7 guys opting out and obviously no Brady. Then Cam gets COVID which sets back his development in the system. So they lose to a bad Denver team at home and have a losing record in October or later for the first time since since 2002.

Belichek and McDaniels are still there. But when you lose a bunch of players that matters over schemes.

Same thing applies to the Cowboys. No matter how good or bad you think the new staff is, there is no accurate barometer because 10 starters are on IR.

How do you teach a new defensive scheme with practice squad players and think you can get a true evaluation of how effective it is?

Offensively Dalton for a full game behind 2 backup tackles is scary. Perhaps they’ll overcome and everything will be great. But if they don’t, don’t immediately go blaming McCarthy and Moore.

New England is showing THIS ISNT MADDEN where you just need the right play call regardless of personnel.

Belichick is the best of all time. Tom Brady is also the best of all time. When you replace Brady with Cam Newton it is a downgrade. A massive downgrade. To think NE would just march on is pure stupidity.

Once a team has QB issues, nothing else matters.

New England isn't proving anything other than it being extremely difficult to win 10 to 12 games per year for two decades.

What's the underlying rationale here? Coaching would only matter if they won 10 to 12 games from now until Bill B's retirement?

It could be how many players are out also, you can be a good coach and overcome some player turnover, you can also be a good coach and have a bad season when your missing 5+ top players.....I think he had some good players opt out plus some injuries and you wind up with a average defense trying to hold the fort with a QB you took a chance on.

New England had some Covid issues that derailed practice and no preseason. I’m willing to give Belichick the entire season.

Also, Belichick is doing Subway. Curse of Jared?

And Tampa Bay is giving undefeated Green Bay a beatdown.

It’s all about the QB.
