Only if Dak leaves and our drafts don't improve.

I was assuming Dak stays. We aren't rebuilding this defense in 1 draft. Next year we have Diggs and Brown in the backfield....that's it. Cap room won't allow us much freedom in free agency so we need to hit on atleast 4 picks to start or atleast rotate in heavily.

CATCH17 is slowly walking back his opinion to where he is beginning to sound marginally rational and coherent.

Progress lol...

I stand by everything I said about Dalton.

He is about our 4th or 5th problem right now..

Jimmy Johnson also saw it the same way myself and many others did.

Holley is sadly right I think. I trust his source. THAT SAID, hoping for a faster rebuild.
It won’t take 4 years but it won’t be easy
We have to have a very good draft that gets this defense up to the middle of the pack this year. And that’s not an easy task when not only do we have some just bad players, we are losing starters or big contributors this year. So first thing is replace them with better players then look to upgrade others
I think that starts right now
Move players you aren’t gonna sign and get ammo for this draft
I think I could work out a way to have a dozen picks
Then you use those picks to move around and get what you need
The worst thing you can do is go out trading for players now thinking they can help you win a very bad division
The smart move is look to build a super bowl team not a team that can pull out a playoff appearance in a bad division
Start thinking about next year and build for the future

My point is you can turn around your team in 1-2 offseasons if you have a couple pieces in place already, like a franchise QB.

The problem is trying to do that while paying your QB and everyone else on the team a ton of money.

We have to ignore this though when it comes to Prescott and just sign him and hope for the best.

OH.. Thats probably why I said Dak is better than Dalton..

I even used all caps for you.

You have a comprehension issue and should get checked.

What am I wrong about Dak?

Let's see.. I say he's a good solid QB... Am I wrong about that?

I say he needs a lot around him to win? Am I wrong about that?

What exactly when it comes to Dak am I wrong about please do tell me because I can't wait for you tell me that I think Dak is not good again so I can bring your comprehension into question again.

Nobody gives a good crap about your opinion of Dak being "good". When you say such things, it doesn't make Dak look bad, it makes you look bad.

Apparently, you think your thinly-veiled shot at him carries any sort of weight. It doesn't. It just shows your butthurt agenda, and how his asking price blinds you to everything else about him. It show that the issue lies with you, not him.

Let's talk some more about your Andy Dalton claims. And how you irreparably trashed any credibility you may have ever had?

Prescott is good money. The problem is all the bad money on Jaylon, Zeke, Crawford ect.

Im not sure letting a franchise qb go is the solution to giving bad contracts to the other guys.

Maybe we need to start by rectifying those deals. I watched Philly pull out of a whole mess after Chip Kelley. So I know it can be done.

You're quoting me and whining about my opinion.

IF it means nothing don't say nothing.

Jimmy Johnson shared those same opinions.

I still agree with him.

The problem is the blocking, turnovers by Zeke, and of course the defense.

In an optimal environment we can get the same results Dak could with Dalton because both guys go as the team go and we have multiple seasons to judge this on and not just 2 games.

Almost sure we've had this discussion but in similar circumstances Dak has proven to be far superior.

I was always on the fence with paying him. This year he showed me he can do a lot with a little. No that doesn't mean it netted any real results but it's insincere to expect anyone to win with the team we have out there. Just competing is a feat.

Ok.. So pay Dak..

The problem as you said is all the bad money.. WE can't get out of those deals.

So we have to pay our QB more money than he is worth while also having all of these other guys locked up.

Meanwhile... Teams with rookie QB contracts and vets taking paycuts are winning Superbowls.

Russell Wilson isn't winning championships after getting paid... They are also one of the worst defenses in football and haven't blocked for him until this season. (their defense is still trash and will ultimately be there downfall.)

Aaron Rodgers isn't winning titles after getting paid.

They have to sit and wait for the cap to increase so their contract doesn't take up a huge percentage.

Whatever.. WE didn't learn the lesson with Romo or the countless other examples.. Just sign Dak and blame everyone around him like we did with Romo and like we do for Dak now.
