Because we don't have the salary cap room.
What is it right now? I thought I read somewhere we have around 23. Any possibility of any restructures? Cap wise, nothing’s written in stone for 2021 because of this C-19 crap. The FO has been TERRIBLE drafting defense so far, but they HAVE seemed to have gotten better at cap management in recent years.

Dak. His contract will take all of that and more.

Ok.. So pay Dak..

The problem as you said is all the bad money.. WE can't get out of those deals.

So we have to pay our QB more money than he is worth while also having all of these other guys locked up.

Meanwhile... Teams with rookie QB contracts and vets taking paycuts are winning Superbowls.

Russell Wilson isn't winning championships after getting paid... They are also one of the worst defenses in football and haven't blocked for him until this season. (their defense is still trash and will ultimately be there downfall.)

Aaron Rodgers isn't winning titles after getting paid.

They have to sit and wait for the cap to increase so their contract doesn't take up a huge percentage.

Whatever.. WE didn't learn the lesson with Romo or the countless other examples.. Just sign Dak and blame everyone around him like we did with Romo and like we do for Dak now.

We can bite the bullet on some of those deals. We can trade some guys, we can cut some guys, we can restructure others and we can make it work.

The first thing is accepting that the bad contracts are actually bad contracts.

The cap is way too pliable for me to believe we are stuck anymore.

It's not that simple. There are different dynamics at play.

Everyone could get healthy and we put together 1 maybe 2 more good years with this team but I doubt it.

Tyron can't stay healthy.

Martin is starting to get banged up.

Your QB wants 40 million a year or close to it.

Your RB makes a ton of money.

Your right tackle just had hip surgery.

Your 20 million dollar WR is about as feast or famine as it gets and makes business decisions on possession routes.

Your defense has virtually no talent and guys on that no talent defense were given contracts.

This team is a mess and if the goal is to win a Superbowl then we are a long way off.

If you want to be mediocre then sure..We can be mediocre. We've mastered mediocrity.
If we draft Pewell watch how our offense will be unstoppable like 2014 except with better receivers and quarterback. I would rather have Murray at running back then Zeke. Pewell is a better prospect then Zach.

You're quoting me and whining about my opinion.

IF it means nothing don't say nothing.

Jimmy Johnson shared those same opinions.

I still agree with him.

The problem is the blocking, turnovers by Zeke, and of course the defense.

In an optimal environment we can get the same results Dak could with Dalton because both guys go as the team go and we have multiple seasons to judge this on and not just 2 games.

And both of you were wrong, clearly.

Almost sure we've had this discussion but in similar circumstances Dak has proven to be far superior.

I was always on the fence with paying him. This year he showed me he can do a lot with a little. No that doesn't mean it netted any real results but it's insincere to expect anyone to win with the team we have out there. Just competing is a feat.

And it's abundantly clear that Dak was the only reason that this team was even in any of the games that they were.

Anybody refusing to see that is intentionally covering their eyes.

If you draft in the top 3, you have to take the blue chip plug and play player. Pewell becomes are most important player because he is our future left tackle and the offensive line will be elite again. Zeke will once again run for 5 yards before he is touched. He will help neutralize the Eagles and Football Teams front 7.

You pay Dak, and he has to carry you. Almost by himself.

You can say goodbye to Cooper, Gallup, and any hope of building a serious defense. Name a highly paid quarterback that has a great defense. Those teams get picked apart because they can't pay their guys when they come due.

Neither team in the Super Bowl had a high-paid quarterback. And the Chiefs had better win another now because they're about to get picked apart. Can Mahomes do it without Kelce, Hill, Jones, and Matthieu? Because he'll have to soon.

Brady understands this, but he has a wife that makes more than him in a month than he does in a year.

Yea because our defense is ok and our O-LINE really does need strengthening .

If we had a top 3 pick (and we didnt want to sign a QB) there would be ALOT of good offers to trade the pick to get whoever's left from Lance/ Fields or if they want Pewell himself.

Nonsense from Jessie Holley. The Cowboys were in a similarly bad way in 1989 but they managed to turn it around in just 3 short years to be champs again. All it takes is the right management that knows how to put the right pieces together.

Do you trust the Joneses and McClay making a trade and picking the right players? I don’t.

Just because you need defense doesn't mean you have to take it in round 1.

Dallas isn't a rookie defensive player away and if a franchise Left Tackle is available and there is nothing defensively that compares then you take the Left Tackle.

Besides.. Tyron is no longer dependable and Collins just had hip surgery.

You draft a franchise Tackle and forget about your QB's blindside being an issue for 10 years.
