But you don’t do that with almost every player we acquire or lose, do you? I can’t recall the last time we lost a player that people didn’t chalk up to not being worth keeping.
Jones, Quinn, Hitchens, Collins...I’m not saying they were all world beaters but then the guys we were supposed to replace with were supposed to be huge upgrades according to a large part of this fan base. Poe, Griffen, Smith..where the hell are they? Allegedly our secondary wouldn’t be that bad without Jones, ya know, because he didn’t get INT’s and only took out the other teams best receivers.
I could go on and on, it just seems like every player we lose is minimized and everyone we gain is going to be a an All Pro upgrade. Every year Jerry keeps those Kool Aid taps wide open and people can’t get enough.
Again, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with be excited about a player every now and then but the over hype seems to be a common theme. Hell, some of us were cautioning against Nolan vs Marinelli, sure there’s better DC’s then Marinelli but Nolan flat our sucks. Some of us were also cautious about McCarthy without Rodgers and were told he was a Super Bowl winning coach so therefore he was a huge upgrade over Garrett. That’s not looking so hot now either but I understand with the injuries and it’s first season it’s not easy so I’m giving MM a short leash but he’s made some questionable calls and seemingly has lost the locker room half way through his first season.
Just ranting buddy. I don’t even see a bright spot over the next year or two. Oh yeah...can’t forget how every draft pick we make is a steal every year
