Wont happen. Jaylon has some value. If we are doing a fire sale then sell him.
Sounds like they are putting Jaylon on notice but that is to much money to lose on the cap, especially if you plan to tag Dak.

That was a total Jerry move. Stephen has been trying to play moneyball with the defense for years now and no way he signed off on that on. You can get a chase and tackle Will type LB anywhere which is all Smith is good at.

Of all the big contracts that have people miffed - Lawrence, Elliott, Smith, etc. - he's the easiest one (or more specifically the one that won't cause the most heartburn) this offseason because he's basically a wash cap wise. So yeah, you have to still eat $9MM in cap space but you don't have to take on any additional bonus money or anything like that. You actually have a net savings of $400K.

It's not ideal but it's certainly better than the cap situation if you tried to cut Elliott or Lawrence. Woo boy, those would sting.

I would really be impressed if McCarthy did that. I would set a great example that it doenst matter who you are or how much you are making, if you don't ball your outta here.
McCarthy won't do that.

Jed will call Jaylon into a meeting, draw on a napkin and drone out some stupid analogy and MM will lose any credibility he may or may not of had.

How embarrassing to stand in front of the team with pie on your face....not even being present NOR invited to attend the meeting.

Bad look. Worse results.
