It seems pretty obvious they are dumping the Veteran players on short contracts because these are most likely the guys who leaked the info to the media about how these coaches have no clue what they are doing.
No player with a secure long term contract is doing that. Plus the more teams you have been on the more you probably realize this current regime is clueless.

They want the young players who don't know any better.

As Mickey would say, there’s a reason most of those guys are available. For every Randall Cobb and Robert Quinn on the market, there’s a Dontari Poe, Worley, Haha and Iloka.

They were pretty good with additions last year with Cobb, Bennett and Quinn. This year was just a disaster. Who knows how much of that is the defensive scheme that was put in that’s not working.

Blake Bell has been solid on offense.

Whoever (in their bizarro power structure) has been responsible for the bargain and/or guys-on-their-last-leg free agent signings the past few years has been awful. After Worley and Poe are shown the door, that personnel "executive" should be stripped of decision-making power immediately.

pretty sure its the head coach. He never got to do this in Green Bay and they gave him Parcells like power and he chose a bunch of veterans for quick impact.
