Lost to Ingleside in the third round that year. We had 550 yards on offense, but also had three turnovers. We only had four in the first 12 games!!!!!
WHAT?! My Ingleside?! I remember when that place only had one dentist and he was our neighbor and he shot my dog. Jerkum Kirkham we called him.
???!!!

You just made my night. No offense.

Cowboys need to draft a QB like they needed to draft a WR. The Cowboys have the worst defense in Dallas Cowboys History (a former expansion team), and have broken NFL records for poor defensive performance.

Cowboys need to sign the QB they have, and draft DL, OL, DL, CB, LB, S, DL, CB, and rinse and repeat it for the next 4 years.

Anybody who is saying to draft Trevor Lawrence versus signing your 3 time Pro Bowl, 2 time Division winning, former NFL rookie of the year with a 13 win season, who has never had a losing season in the NFL, college, high school, and Jr. High School, and was leading passer in the NFL is just asinine and dumb as Jerry Dumbo GM Jones. QB is the most important position on a football team. When you have a winner and a leader at QB, you don't Jerry ball at football team like Jerry Dumbo GM Jones by franchise tagging a franchise QB.

Go watch your Trevor Lawrence vs. LSU and watch Dak Prescott vs. LSU for a comparison. Lawrence is not a sure upgrade and he is not definitely not John Elway or Andrew Luck. Who was the best QB on the field when Lawrence went up against Burrow? Who is Trevor Lawrence going to tackle?

You guys are comical.

Who knows what the Jones' will do. I want Dak back but don't think we can afford to pay him and still have enough left over to fill out a winning team.

Oh, who am I kidding. Of course jerruh will give Dak the money. He'll get it back in jersey sales. Jerry doesn't care about winning as much as making money and having people talk about him.

So you want more of what you've gotten? Accepting mediocrity and never winning a Bowl just so you're not bad for any prolonged stretch is the biggest loser mentality of all. Winners bite the bullet and make hard decisions that don't have instant gratification.

But sure, they should keep doing what they've done the last twenty years and expect different results...

To follow on to your continued pattern of behavior model I might add...

So all it takes is a true offseason with, OTAs, TC, preseason, better injury luck and no covid to eliminate the facts that
This HC for the last 2 and a quarter seasons with a healthy Rodgers and Dak has been terrible.
His bff DC Nolan is widely recognized as having coached SEVERAL league worst overall defenses.
The healthy starting QB not only struggles, but has proven in the last 2 years as not being able to lead his team to victory against .500 or above teams.

So yeah, sign me up for a long term commitment to that cast of 3 as it most surely suggests so much success is in the future.

Just need a true offseason.

That's the ticket.

Yeah...

Makes perfect Cowboy Zone sense and as you said, supports doing the way things have always been done. Lol :)

It make ABSOLUTELY no matter what Cowherd THINKS he knows. Jerry and Stephen have REPEATEDLY said Prescott IS THEIR QB. That would mean they DON'T CARE what people like Cowherd THINK or that they would even consider using their first round pick on another QB. With all the roster changes on the defensive side of the ball to find stop gap solutions that should tell EVERYONE that they will be concentrating on defense in the draft next year. Those that are not Prescott haters see that the offense moves when he is in and that while he was moving the offense that the biggest problem with winning was because what the defense wasn't doing. END OF STORY!

So pay Dak north of 40?

#DontpayDak

Here's a funny thing, not ha ha funny, that all those who keep bringing up the 40 mil or more have never sat in on any of the negotiations so only continue to repeat what sportswriter have SPECULATED what the amount is. Oh wait, back on July 15th in the final hour or so to negotiate a contract with a player that was tagged Prescott himself was negotiating and they agreed on 35 mil but couldn't get the guaranteed amount settled before the time ran out.

I agree this will happen. It will be another example of Jerry’s idiocy at GM. Wasted Dak’s rookie contract and likely to lose him with no return.

If that is the plan they must go full on rebuild. Trade everything that can be traded. Hire Urban Meyer to fix this lazy culture.
We had a very good team in 2016 and good teams in 2017-2019 yet could only win one play off game. That was the window with Prescott. Close but no cigar. Paying him the big bucks now would be saying good night to the next 4-5 years.

Time to move on and ride the next rookie QB.

They didn’t come close. Not even a little. 1 playoff win? Very good team? The opportunity was squandered by Jerry Jones. Again. I think it’s better than 50/50 Dak is gone. I also think this franchise is pure garbage.

If you like Dak you should like Fields.

Fields is Dak with a little more upside.

I'm not a fan so far. I could change my mind but i'm not there yet.

I'm not calling him a bust. I just see a guy that has a ceiling of being a really solid QB.
But the team Dak has had included an All World OL.

That has evaporated. Zeke can tell him how things are now.

Dak will clearly struggle winning with this team and especially this defense.

If that is correct..why pay Dak?

I posted the names in a different thread so I wont do it again, but since 2000, 56 QB's have been drafted in the first round, of those QBs, 38 could be either classified as a total bust, or below average. We know what we have in Dak so why roll the dice on another QB?

I don’t want to get ahead of myself because currently we are drafting 5 and I don’t think the Jets or Jaguars win another game but let’s realistically look ahead to next season like this is. Dak and Sewell plus the rest of the draft on defense. Or draft Lawrence or Fields then draft the rest on defense. With the second group you have 30+ million to spend on the defense. I would love for both to happen but which one would the stooges do.
