As others pointed out, the salary cap hit alone makes it impossible to cut Zeke.

I should have been clearer on that post, Zeke had more yards in his first four years than any other RB over that time, even though he missed 8 games with the BS Goodell suspension. I went back to edit to make that clear.

I disagree DeMarco is the comparison, he only had the one great year. It was the only time he averaged over 100 yards a game and the only time he went to the Pro Bowl. Zeke averaged 125 yards of offense per game coming into this season and went to the Pro Bowl in every full season.

Sure, you can win with a superstar like Mahomes or if you have the GOAT QB and GOAT Head Coach on the same team. But you have a much better chance of getting to the SB with guys like Beast Mode than having those things happen.

This team is poorly run, they’re boring, not very talented, poorly coached, don’t play with any grit, horrible GM, and think about what the heck do we do well? Anything?

One thing we've learned about the internet is that every word is true. Zeke isn't going anywhere. A mega trade, it's possible (though highly unlikely). But an outright release is ludicrous.

Enjoy.. Zeke needs to go. This team has to move to a committee. If you still think this bell cow thing is gonna work, you're only fooling yourself. He should've never got paid. PERIOD. Fresh legs, and probably 3 guys to do it. That's what should happen moving forward. Multiple RBs and the hot hand. Overpaying a RB is really just foolish at this point. He carried them where exactly? Makes zero sense to outright release him, but they should be looking to trade him in January or whenever that starts up again. Hopefully the Jets come calling. They're probably the only ones stupid enough considering the contract situation.

zeke and all those fresh big contracts will all be here next year.. its 2022 when it becomes less dead money cap hit to release all of them and start over..i say get heathy come back next year with great draft good FA pickup or two and all the dudes we thought would have big year this year, which now becomes a mulligan given an historic amount of injuries to first year staff..reboot 2021

Non-explosive RBs that can’t catch and want 15 million a year need to go bye bye.. 2016 Zeke was great. That Zeke is gone.

Don’t you worry though.. The Jones’s will not get rid of Zeke yet and they will also sign his buddy Dak to a huge deal and we can always talk about how great 2016 was while we stay mediocre with the upside to maybe win a wildcard game every few years.

There's no room for respect money in the NFL. Team's can't be paying players for what they did in the past only. They pay them for what they can do in the future largely based on the past. That means we would not see Zeke in a Cowboys uniform in 2021 had it not been for his contract details.

Zeke is close to an 11 million dollar cap hit. If they release him he'll be a 35 million dollar hit. Next year is close to the same. A 13.7 Mil cap hit and a 35M hit if they cut him. So I don't see it happening.
