I should have stopped looking while I was ahead

Watching the highlights because I really didn't see any point in wasting game time nap time, I thought the Dallas O looked like a pro team both rushing and passing. I tallied up the o-line and noticed that Martin was at RG and Steele was at RT. Then, McGovern was at RG and Martin had been moved out to RT, which stayed that way, for most of the game. This combination seemed to be working with Elliot and Pollard making some nice runs.
Then I fell into the optimistic trap again. Maybe, they found the right OL combo, the rushes were coming, Dalton was throwing darts, and the division standings were still uggggggly. Then I got greedy and looked up the Vikings record. Dallas, at 2-7, had just beat a team that went into the game standing at 3-6. A team, that defensively, leaked, at a rate slightly less then the Cowboys Titanic. Still, a win is a win and the division is still ugggggly.
looking ahead, the Cowboys have 6 games left. This part of the schedule is so weak and weaker still with the unfortunate injury to Joe Burrow, that, realistically, the Cowboys could go 5-1 and win the division.
Just when you think you have gotten out, yada, yada, yada.

We win one game and this sub goes wild and thinks we’re contenders. Seriously? “We could go 5-1 down the stretch?” And “Dallas O looked like a pro team rushing and passing.”

Are our expectations really that low now? That when we win against a meddling 4-5 Vikings team that has one of the worst run defenses in the league, we think we are suddenly “average”?

Winning 5 games is going to lead this team to nothing but disaster. I know, players don’t think about tanking. But still. That’s the worst thing that could happen. I think we are overreacting here. Ravens will pound and pummel this team. They have been losing a lot lately. They will come with vengeance. 49ers, while depleted, are still a good team capable of beating us. We will likely only win our NFC East games, (and I don’t think we’ll win against the Giants).

Yep.. Which is the worst thing that could happen for this teams future.

Denucci should be in at QB.

It's going to be a long time before we compete for a ring. We'll provide a lot of false hope and mediocrity though.
I hear your point but there IS a long shot way around it...

Drafting off the chart good over the next few years.

Likely? Not really, but theres a chance.

I agree to the point that we are currently in no man's land and arent on a path to get that fixed soon.

Also, your agenda to be bad this year is because you want a new QB, who they arent going to take anyway.

If you wanted to deal the pick for more picks, what are the odds they nail all the extras vs how much the team is set back with all the losing?

Who would want to sign here?

I really understand where you're coming from and I'm not arguing against the point.. but in the same way we may as well accept that Jerry isnt going anywhere, neither is Prescott.

There is also a Left Tackle in this draft that many are porjecting to be the best to come out in forever.

I don't know if you noticed but there is a guy in Washington named Chase Young that we are going to have to put up with for the next decade and a Franchise tackle on a rookie deal for the next 5 years is a nice way to cut a corner.

Also, potentially getting a bounty of picks for a QB hungry team seems like a great way to add quality for cheap.

And OF COURSE I want Trevor Lawrence. I'm not an idiot.

The Viqueens are not a good team. Neither are we. Came down to one team had to win, guess it was our turn.

He didn’t and the Vikings were 4-5 before the game yesterday. OP didn’t do his research.
At the 1:29 mark of the first quarter, when Dalton was scrambling on a 3rd and six, if Steele wasn't in the game, then who was wearing #78? I stand corrected on the standings. The Vikings were 4-5 and now are 4-6.

At 1:29, of the first quarter, if Steele ain't playing, who is wearing #78?

Martin practiced all week at RT and started the game at RT. If Steele did go in it was just for a play or two while Martin fixed an equipment issue or something. Personally, I didn’t notice him in there but I suppose I might have missed him for a play or two.

Did you not hear that Martin was starting at RT before the game?

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

Terrence Steele played ONE snap yesterday. You picked the ONE snap he was in on!

ONE! SNAP!

This is what I posted. I tallied up the o-line and noticed that Martin was at RG and Steele was at RT. Then, McGovern was at RG and Martin had been moved out to RT, which stayed that way, for most of the game. I never suggested how much he played but you Cowboy message board Gods, looking at you, ChronicCowboy, from the God only suite of Mount Cowboy, bellowed that I was wrong and didn't do my research.
Perhaps you should cut back on your knee jerk arrogance and maybe the emojis before you embarrass yourself anymore.

Nope, I was taking my nap. The highlights showed him in and I mentioned it. I never suggested anything else. The Gods of the message board graced me with an answer. Puny Gods.

Why can't we be contenders?

Qb's and non qb's are getting injured all over the league.

The cowboys put up 30+ points yesterday, and it didn't even look that smooth. What if Dalton and these really good skill positions figure it out in the next 6 games? What if they figure out how to put 30+ on any defense. What if they stay balanced with the run and pass, and start controlling the clock.

Special teams is starting to play well. The defense has been making improvements.

You don't pass on playoff runs, no matter how small you think the chances are
