What a huge difference the playoff % changed in the NFCE.
I can't remember exactly the numbers going into Sunday. But the sure did flip.

Dallas had like less than 10% to win the division, and the Eagles were around 40%

Now even with the Eagles in 1st by 1/2 a game. This has Dallas a better chance at 37% to win it and the Eagles at 31%

also the chance of no playoffs flipped, Dallas at 63% to the Eagles 69%. Last week Dallas was like 2%

This is for next week if a win or a loss

Needless to say, it is a very important game and a must win obviously.

They have us projected 10th for the draft finishing with a 6-10 record, with 7% to 8% chance to get a spot from 3rd to 8th.
2% for the 2nd pick, and less than 1% for the top pick.

I think currently if the season ended today, we would be picking 4th.
Win the division no matter with what record, the highest we would be is 19th if bounced in the 1st round, if our record is worse than the other losers.

Magic winning numbers needed for what playoff seed.

In contrast, the magic losing numbers to be excluded from certain seeds.

I can't see either team winning 6 more games but I it would be nice if the Eagles could edge us by a half a game to jump back in the draft because of a tie.
You will have to repost later, I think the magic number is more realistically around 3 or 4.

No doubt
I’m not excited about getting in the playoffs at 6-10 myself

you know if you would have told me that 5 weeks ago I would have 100 percent agreed...but an amazing thing happens when you write off a season and then a month later the situation shifts and gives you an opportunity as a fan to enjoy something you thought was gone.

It’s a weird sensation of playing with house money...at this point we’re all expecting a loser but if we get some wins and get in the playoffs then who knows....kinda like finding an extra beer in the back of the fridge or some fries at the bottom of the bag when you thought you were out....

Right, but that is as of today. It will change quite a bit over the next few weeks. Heck that number can go from 6 to 3 in two weeks. Doubtful, but it could.

If it happens I'll enjoy the comedic aspect of it - first double-digit loss team to make the playoffs.

Don't see the Cowboys winning a playoff game whether they get in or not.
Me either
And the joke is on the talent you gain by being a double digit loss team, that shrinks dramatically if you make the playoffs
This is not a playoff team
And backing into the playoffs does much more harm than good

How would you feel about making it at 8-8? Just curious if it is the 6-10 that's the issue or Dallas possibly making the playoffs period instead of sucking for a higher draft pick.

I get that
I’ve never not wanted to win every game
But to me this season is different
Sure we can back into the playoffs because the whole division is bad
But for this team we need talent
We have weaknesses and holes coming after the season
Backing into the playoffs only hurts fixing those issues

An 8-8 teams this year and normal years are not the same
8-8 teams rarely make the playoffs in most years
This team has an opportunity to fix our weaknesses
Making the playoffs hurts that
A young team with talent getting better and going 8-8 and sneaking in is not the same as a team sneaking in just because the whole division is bad
A really good draft, a healthy team and we could have a good team next year
A big part of this years problems are injury related
Many of those will be back
A good draft could really change this team
There is a huge difference picking in the top 10 and picking at 18 or so
