A home run must mean something different in football speak than it does in baseball.

I am just picturing Jerry trying to strong arm Dak using Elliot and it makes me laugh: "Yes the offense was putting up historic numbers last year before you got hurt but that was with Zeke and his league leading number of fumbles. Oh right well you also had Gallup who um oh right hasn't done a thing since you got injured. Well um how about that OLine... wait both starting tackles were hurt while you were putting up historic numbers. Okay lets move on to um well the defense had DLaw who was playing great, and then also Jaylon Smith who is leading the team in tackles and leading the league in number of plays where you run the wrong way and then also some other people. Oh well um you see with great talent like that I do not see why you would think that your historically great numbers mean you are a great player. It is all because of how great of a GM I am at finding great talent like that to surround you with."
You had me until the Tank comment. That dude has been playing with his hair on fire this season. He has been every bit the player we expected when he signed that contract.
Otherwise, this is pretty spot on.
I don’t think Jerry makes the final decision anymore. He loved Dez, I don’t think he could have cut him. This offseason should be interesting. When does Jerry ever publicly criticize his players or admit to a mistake lol? Why people hang on every interview word like it’s the full truth is so weird to me. Will never understand why people keep putting all their eggs into Jerry’s interview basket.
Perhaps he's referring to pre 1921, when a ball that bounced through or over the fence was considered a HR.A home run must mean something different in football speak than it does in baseball.
Thing is...regardless of what ego boy thinks, his play was bad enough on film to warrant at least approaching the agent about a pay cut.It was a solo home run in the 9th inning being down 15 runs. All home runs are not created equal.
Jerry is just giving us his usual speak. Remember, it was him who gave them the deals. He will never admit he is wrong.
But how does Jerry think those were good deals when it is being reported they are going to ask Jaylon to take a paycut? That is the exact opposite. they realized they screwed up by paying that bum a lot of money.
Jaylon's contract extension was the most knee jerk ignorant move Jerry has ever made. Jaylon played one single good season and still had a year left. There was absolutely zero reason to do it. He was not in Zeke's position where he could hold you hostage.
Loyal to who?You may hate Jerry the GM, but he's loyal and probably a great guy to sit down and have drink with
I guess that means they will both be Cowboys next year.
*deep sigh*
Great pointI don’t think Jerry makes the final decision anymore. He loved Dez, I don’t think he could have cut him. This offseason should be interesting.
And it might mean Crawford re-signs with the Cowboys. Someone please tell me Jerry will not re-sign Crawford to a new contract.
